It's all over the car, either really bad prep or a reaction I guess, the wings are fibreglass so definitely not rust :-k

Thanks for the advice, doing a little research shows bar coat is most useful over old paint, I am taking all the panels back to bare/gel coat, so would it still be necessary? Will it be adhesive enough to fibreglass etc?

At the moment I'm not too sure as I planned to use the car for track, I currently have it up for sale as I may be moving in a couple of weeks which would mean cut backs. What are you specifically interested in? :eye:

Could be right, maybe water got into the lines when spraying or something, I've not done any sanding or painting before but I would never let it out in the street like that #-o

So yeah, started scraping some of the rust off to see how bad they are, bolts seized and the lot #-o

So I'll have to make a choice once I get the bolts out, if the housings are fine to refurb I'll get them blasted and powder coated, other option is to get some aluminium sheet and get new housings made up :-k

I would probably go with getting some new aluminum houses fabricated. Better job longer term.

That's the big thing that stopped me getting the Rev 6 lights in the past. They're definitely better than the junk copies I inherited on Mule II (they were less than useless!) but they're a ticking rot time bomb :(

In all fairness I expected some rot as they are common with the old models, apparently they used aluminium later in production. Just didn't expect it to be this bad [-(

If they are salvageable I'll just get them powdercoated then make new aluminium ones after summer for longetivity to save some time just now as I've got a massive list to complete within 6weeks to get it Road ready without botching anything #-o

Starting to feel the stress

That will be that then, new housings will be made as I had to drill the bolts out and I don't fancy wasting time getting these refurbed.

Not exactly, afaik Rogue used aluminium after a while when they found the housing was a problem.
However I have thought of doing a group buy for those who have the old housing and want fresh ones but depends how much time my fabricator has in next few weeks.
He isn't the cheapest @ £35 p/h plus materials (guesstimate at the moment is 4 hours = £140 plus material) but he is probably one of the best out there

But I have contemplated making a completely new design over winter for something similar but not a copy of these :eye:

Didn't rogue offer replacement housings for a reduced cost?

I think they still have spares for the kits, might be worth checking with them to see :-k
