So my Tubby is for sale, when the price is fair.

I drove the car yesterday and got only one word to say... WOW!

I will not break it up for parts etc....

I'd consider a rev 5 if only it wasn't for the MOT loophole rule that only covers 94-95 cars. Could you imagine removing that de cat every year, or if you shanged the turbo/downpipe combo, it wouldn't be worth doing.
Ok if you want to keep it std I suppose.. :?

I normally go for red cars but I do love the white rev3 + with white alloys.
Them wheels look fantastic. :thumleft: :thumleft:

How does that work out then?

And he brought that for £5000

5k was a bargain mate, no way they will be coming over that cheap.

Speaking to a few ppl and to import with all costs etc you are looking at 6k IIRC

Then a profit has to be made, dont forget that is that the moment when ppl are unable to register in UK so when 10yr rule comes in i suspect prices to rise alittle (more bids) and you will be paying 7500 GBP for a decent model i suspect. Also there are not many rev 5 made anyway.

I certainly wouldnt sell my rev 5 tubby for 5k :thumleft:

Then again i could be wrong and they will sell for a bargain as the market dies...who knows.

ATM if you were able to register it in the UK i would value it at about 7.5 - 8k

I think you can try to sell it in Holland for about 9.000 - 10.000,- euro. It's about the same price i paid for a 9 year old MR2 GT Turbo.

Try it at the dutch MR2 forums:

www.mr2club.nl/forum or www.mr2.nl

Good luck. :D

I don't get all the fuss about rev 5 turbo's. Yes they are very rare in the UK but they only have a few minor subtle changes from a rev 3 (red stitching on gearknob, different wheels and spoiler). I think they are overpriced.

Indicators in the wings. :) But other than that just newer - desirability probably comes from the fact there aren't many in the UK currently. Once the 10 years is up that'll change. Next year then. :o

Should have taken my offer MR2germany! I would even have come over to collect it on the trailer, then a years wait to register it #-o
Good luck with the sale :thumleft:

Other rev 5 updates over rev 4 are include red tacho/speedo clocks as well as the aformentioned side repeaters odd looking spoiler and thinner spoke wheels
