I dont think ive ever seen a static test at donny, and the ones that fail are proper loud, if you have a bung just bring it and you'll be fine. There also pretty good there and give you a few chances to get it sorted.

They don't do static tests at Donny... only driveby for which the limit is 98db.

The noise levels are fed back direct to the council, so if you exceed it you will be black flagged. They normally give you a second go providing you have done something to quiten it down. If in doubt i'd strongly advise that you fit extra silencers before you go out on track. It just is not worth the hassle.

I'm going to visit brands on wednesday and have them perform static tests. One with the bung out and one with it in. I'll report back.....

The report will read something like:

Without bung: Too Loud
With bung: Too quiet

OK guys n'girls I have provisionally booked up now so confident I am that I'll pass noise regs. I'll still get this checked to be sure but all being well I'll be there :thumleft: I think I'll even book a session with the instructor to help get to grips with the track :D

Hey all.
What with money being tight and diarys being unpredictable I'm wondering whether it'll be possible to check spaces and turn up and pay on the day if theres room left and funds allow?
ie. does it have to be pre-booked?
Thanks all.
R.

ps. advice on rubber and brakes greatly appreciated.... will decent road tyres (yoko ao22's) suffice and last? Likewise pads (green stuff)... or would a change to yellow/redstuff be advisable?

Almost forgot....
Shouldn't be a prob but can we turn up and be sound level tested and only pay for the day if we pass? Cant afford to pay £200 and not get to drive.
Blue flame ex and induction kit on rev1 n/a so doubt its as loud as some of the nur spec turbo guys but just to be safe.....
Thx R.

Looking at other BAT days it will be full before the day so you won't be able to arrive and drive.

Blueflame exhaust should be fine.

Donnington is quite a low tyre wear surface. I've done 2 days on a set of s02s without any major wear.

I wouldn't fancy greenstuffs chances around donny. Red or yellow would be the smarter choice.

This setup will be fine, I've taken MR2s with this configuration to Donnington with no issues.

Not long now guys! :thumleft:

First track day of the year for us, we've done a few things to the car since our last day (november), we've replaced the intercooler with a much bigger one and strapped a wopping gert fan to it, the cats came out and replaced with a free flowing downpipe and hopefully if the roll cage turns up in time we'll wap that in and weather permitting run slicks.

I cant wait! :D

Don't make it so free flowing that its too loud though.

Except that if they know you are backing off they will have you. I know Bob who does the noise testing at Donny very well... i've seen how they operate and if you are backing off they tend to notice.
