Thanks mate.

The car will be coming off the road shortly for the winter so there will be more cleaning because it's not had that level of attention for a long time!

It's been a while...

I've done one track day this year and the car ran superb as always! 8)

Not had time with the car to get much done but the plan still stands for:

Fully stripped
Carbotech XP10 brake pads
Standard brake discs
Boot mount intercooler
Side Exit exhaust
ECU (Apexi PFC, Link or Motec) with remap
Fit the Walbro 255lph fuel pump (Already bought)

I've changed the steering wheel to a smaller OMP number... Really liking it! No photos unfortunately... :(

However, this turned up at the door yesterday...

What you guys think, keep it black or get it powder-coated a different colour? Colour suggestions?

I've got two Cobra seats to go in as well. Just need to buy 2 harnesses... 8)

Just bought two Sparco harnesses for £30. Can't complain at that! 8)

The plan is to get the interior stripped out and get the car up to Stainless Creations in Falkirk to get the cage welded in, seats and harnesses fitted.

Any suggestions on the colour of the cage? I'm considering keeping it black. :-k

Today I got the car corner weighed. The car weighed in at 1219kg with 1/3 of a tank of fuel and without me in it. 1309kg with me in it! Yes, I will be dieting!
The guy that done the corner weighing for me told me that 'ideally' I will get the two cross weights equal, or as close to. These weights are based on a car that didn't have the tyre pressures checked prior to weighing and not knowing if the coilovers are equally/unequally adjusted (heights wrong etc). So this has gave me a good starting point...

Was this a standard car?

What sort of spec was it when you had it weighed?

Standard trim car basically. Spare wheel/tool bag still in car as well. It was basically a starting point for me.

When I buy my KW V3 coilovers (and have them set up) I'll be taking it back to the same place to have it re-weighed.

Nah, no external waste gate.

I think my next move will be an ECU and mapping session. I plan to extract as much power as I can on the standard engine/turbo.
Then when it goes, it'll get something 'better' 8)

Based on what you've done so far, would you do anything different?

well tbh (others may argue this) but i would stick with the stock ecu for now
im still using stock ecu and injectors.
i guess your running 1-1.2 bar boost? if so then an ecu and re-map will (for the cost) gain you very little
for what a decent ecu and mapping costs you could get a good 2nd hand turbo setup or hybrid turbo then run lower boost at lower temps and gain a little power that way.

Yeah, most of the time it's 1 bar. Going to put it back up to 1.2bar.
Will keep that in mind. I've got a feeling I'll buy both though.

For example, say I got a TD06. What boost should I run? 0.8-1 bar?

Removing sound deadening is one hell of a job. I did mine in the winter (-10 C) and the stuff just jumped right out at the tap of a hammer, but still took me a full day. Must have been a right b**** at higher temperatures.

This thread has really inspired me to get my clean on tomorrow! Day off, good weather forecast, lots of new music to enjoy, good times! Think it really looks good when the rain tray is clean, so i'll have a crack at that, and then the 'frunk'.

Great thread. Bit sad to see it go the way of a 'track' car though.
