Daytime qualifying just finished, not sure on Rogue's position but the car looked awesome! Weather is spanking gorgeous too. Not quite figured out how to get through to Rogue's garage yet... Oh yeah, no worries about parking, i parked right at the main entrance next to a fella in a white mk 1 and the car park wasn't even 1/4 full :thumleft: :thumleft:

Not Rogue's:

And very odd having Copse all to yourself, there's not even anyone in the grandstands!

Going back later for night qualifying, was working late last night so need to go get some sleep first! :thumleft:

A couple of pictures:

We've qualified 45th out of 50 which we're reasonably happy about. There's plenty of pace to come in the race and we'd rather not be in the middle of the pack on the first lap!

Cheers,

Not a bad effort, you'll be up against some serious drivers I'd have thought!!

Car is looking stunning. See you over the weekend, got my tickets today. :thumleft:

God damn night time racing is cool :) I have a question - what's the sliproad next to Priory for? Saw a few cars pulling in there, is it so they can be inspected by the marshalls following an off?

And for those who can't make it - see http://www.lincc.tv/ - this is a green vx220 sponsored by tesco's 99ron fuel and run by Thorney Motorsport (who I think ran the Top Gear car last year) which is running live 24hr in car cameras for the whole race. However it did lose its roof during night qualifying

There was also an evo 10 which caught fire, and irritatingly I still have no idea what kind of times Rogue were putting in (not that the night time qualifying has any bearing on position, but it is an interesting lap time comparison) as the commentators would only comment on classes 1-3 and 6

That's the refuelling pits. We stopped twice for fuel just to practice.

:thumleft:

we did slightly better in the night time qualifying compared to the rest of our class.

Ah right that explains it, thanks. I did see you stop actually, I've been watching from the area next to the run off, as that affords viewing up from bridge, round priory, brooklands and luffield.

Oh yeah, whoever was driving between 21:00 and 21:10 last night was creating some pretty impressive exhaust flamage, looked awesome in the dark :thumleft:

All I could glean from the tannoy was that one guy was in the pits being interviewed (and therefore more or less ok) and the dude who got air ambulanced out was concious and communicating fine and was taken to hospital as per routine.

Rogue's car is out, as per post in the Motorsport & Trackdays forum. Got some more arty shots that my friend Roger took: (click for bigness)

After moving up the field to 20th place and first in class with two fantastic and consistant drives, the team were well and truly gutted when the 2zz said enough was enough.
Some pics I took of the day. (Click to enlarge)

Wow, 1st in class?! I'd not seen them get past the MG at any stage, that truly is a great achievement! I feel so sorry for Patrick and the guys, but it was an excellent team effort to get as far as they did, especially considering the prep time. Surely more great things to come next year :)

Bad luck, the car was going great too, was good seeing it outbrake other cars into copse. Thanks for the tickets by the way, had a great time and will be there next year :thumleft:

My bad, the alfa finished! It did have an engine change though...

The Porsche Gt3 finished 1st, followed by the 3 Astons.

In answer to the question above, if Rogue had been able to enter a mk2 turbo they'd have been up against BMW M3 CSL's, 2 Lotus Exige's and an Evo X. Perhaps not where you'd like to be in your first 24hr race?

I know the forum has rules about posting links to other forums, but there is some information here about the condition of Andy Neate, the driver of the TVR involved in the smash on lap 1.

Fingers crossed for a full recovery.
