Dashboard is heat cracked very, very badly. Rattles and vibrates like you wouldn't believe. It really is a mess. The vibration drives me mad!

Doorcards aren't bad, but some of the material is coming away. They look a bit grotty.

No chance. It's going to be a minter daily driver.

Wouldn't the cage put the insurance up as well?

It might do Danny, but I haven't got a cage and have no intention of getting one. Plan is to restore the car to it's former glory (it's not that far off now) and change things as I want to with JDM parts of the correct era to make an AE86 to my own personal tastes, so stock exterior apart from nice wheels and change the odd thing under the bonnet etc.

Most of the exterior work is done, so now I'm focusing on getting the interior top notch.

Plan is to do this over the next few years as I really want to keep this car for a very, very long time. So eventually it'll have a full stainless exhaust and manifold, lovely wheels a mint interior with all the bits I want and all that.

Well, maybe, but only in an extreme situation. The worry is banging your head of course, especially if you are using stock seatbelts and not harnesses. But you'd have to be pretty unfortunate to die really.

Still, not interested in a cage for mine as it's a daily driver, not an out and out track/drift car. :+:

How much did the insurance go up when you told them it was modified?

Well, I told them about the mods before they quoted, then I added a few things that I found on the car on the mod sheet they sent me. I didn't get any calls about it going up from declaring further mods. But to be fair, the mods aren't that bonkers. Was things like strut braces and I mentioned I was pretty sure it had cams though I hadn't checked the cams at that stage.

Craig, I explained to you a couple of weeks ago that standardisbetter.com was always tongue in cheek. I can't help it if you take everything literally, but I find it a tad frustrating that I have to keep explaining the same thing over and over. If you don't get a joke, you don't get it I guess.

1) I must have missed that one, as I'm not on IMOC 24/7.

LOL, I flicked back earlier in the thread and I see where I pulled you up on the whole "standard is better" thing before, but forgot all about it #-o
Oh well, the point needed reinforcing
