Well it's an interesting car and(to me) an interesting ECU, Lauren

Assuming the ROM code is still mostly original Denso code I could probably tell from the binary file what the switches do.
My guess is that they switch in different ROM images because the 27C256 EPROM is capable of holding up to 8 versions of the factory ROM.
If you ever dump out the EPROM and email it to me I could probably work out 90% of the DIP switch functions within an hour or so of tracing each ROM image but I can't guarantee this.
i agree that it does seem to be a drop-in board, at a guess it would be a drop-in when running 264 cams as thats really the only mod that would require remapping to that extent.
Would also be nice to find out why after a week of driving we get this awful flat spot that gets worse until the ecu is reset.
The modded ecu is currently in the shed, we're preferring a stock ecu at the moment because it has a rev limit and doesn't have the flat-spot issue.
If you wanted to have a look at it your more than welcome, i could post it to you, but we would need it back in the same(working) condition.
Just give us a shout if you fancy it.

Hi Mark
I'd much prefer it if you removed the EPROM yourself and simply emailed me the contents.

Because the ECU is so rare I'd really not recommend you send it to anyone by post

The most important component in that ECU is the 27C256 EPROM chip so I'd recommend you don't let it out of your possession until you know its contents.

I'd be willing to donate a few hours of my time

Try and find someone local with an EPROM reader that can dump the EPROM contents.

eg my reader cannot WRITE because it cannot generate the voltage required for these functions.
