Why are there so many black mk2's?

I'm sure there's a connection between all those black 2's produced from 89 to 94 and the fact Knight Rider was still popular then !!
Luckily I was a fan of Magnum PI so I've only owned red ones :)

That looks like a dream i had.. It is a nice colour. But cus there is so many of them is the main reason i bought a Blue one. More Classy more rare.. :D Much better than black (espcially black ones with no spoiler)
