I read lots of complaints, but has anyone ever followed through with legal proceedings?

Re: PETER GIDDEN, the "SPECIALIST". :(
I may have had a few issues historically.
Various reasons, for which this thread is not the place to discuss.

However, i reiterate, the OP's car was working fine when he drove it at my workshop.

He had no intention of paying his bill in full.
He was well aware of the costs as they increased over the preceding weeks, and received and read the invoices before he travelled down to collect.
It is not my fault he bought a cr%p rear clip with a smoky turbo.

No amount of whining and whinging is going to change anything here.
Maybe Mumsnet would be a better place to post

When he called me after an hour telling me the car was overheating and only had a part time clutch, i immediately advised him he had a full return-to-base warranty on all labour, and on all parts supplied by me.
I suggested he got the RAC to return the car and i'd meet him at the workshop.
He declined, and instead drove home, sending me a text message when he got home.
4 hours to do 250 miles.
Good average speed for an overheating car!

I have been using TRE fuel pumps for 5 years+.
Never had a failure that i can remember.
Had the car been returned, if it proved to be faulty it would have been changed under warranty.
Instead of reporting and discussing the fault with me, OP chooses to pay
£500 to have it replaced.
Really?
When i charged less than half of that to fit it!
If the faulty pump is returned to me, i will refund the original charge on the invoice.

As for the two week timescale, those drugs are distorting OP's memory again.
He is absolutely correct when i told him a turbo conversion can be completed in
two weeks.
No dispute with that whatsoever.

However, that two weeks did not include:
Being delivered an incomplete rear clip
- including no throttle cable, no clutch pedal, no gear cables.
All had to be sourced.

OP's highly maintained car had seized calipers, leaking struts, seized top mounts, seized handbrake cable.
.
All to be replaced including fitting full bush kit.

OP supplied incorrect brake discs in a shopping bag.
Expected me to box up and return which i did.

Incorrectly supplied front strut
- expected me to arrange return, which i did.

And an MOT.

He was also aware of my annual holiday as it was discussed when he dropped car off.

So work load just a bit different from fitting a complete rear clip.

Re: PETER GIDDEN, the "SPECIALIST". :(
I've tidied up and deleted a few posts as like I've said they were written in anger and pure frustration.

I'm not trying to hide anything as I'm sure whoever is concerned has screenshots or similar.

I've been in the wrong in the manner of which I've responded to Peter and some others on here, others who were just trying to help.
Holding my hands up fair and square.

In my other thread in the traders feedback section, of which I obviously should have just kept it to one, I'll be posting up more evidence of what myself and respected/qualified others have found with regards to Peters work.

Then it's entirely up to whoever reads it to choose to believe whatever they want, I do think that some of the evidence on what's been found is going to be fairly hard to excuse however.

Again, apologies for some
"colourful" posts, p1$$ing off people who were trying to help and to Peter himself for making things personal rather than keeping things on a more professional level.

I do however think that a lot of perfectly fair and relevant questions made to this trader from others need to be answered.
Maybe the will maybe they won't.
