Indeed it is. Trying my best to find a way at the moment. Peter has been very persuasive and I do really want to come. But I have to convince Mark. Getting there.
Hi Folks,
Unfortunately Mish cannot get the time off work for the new dates.
Sadly we will need to now out of this and i will sob into a Jagermeister instead.
Right Chunnel Booked. Leaving 7.06am on Friday 11th. Going to drive there in a day.
Coming back on Tuesday 15th, 5.20pm.
John, we are looking to stay in Ghent on the Monday night, thought you might fancy it?
But in all seriousness if anyone wants to break up the journey with an overnighter in Ghent let me know as we may be able to book the same hotel. It will have parking and be within walking distance of the night part of the city.
It's a lovely city with lots of nice Belgian beer and then it's a fairly easy journey over to Calais for the Chunnel.
Booked this hotel in Ghent: https://www.booking.com/hotel/be/graven ... map_closed
I am, I'm aiming for being on the same train as you on the way there but I'll be stepping off a plane from the US and getting in the car to get the tunnel so I need to do some decent planning.. and hope I can sleep on the plane! Booking the tunnel tomorrow, I'm using a voucher I got from last year when they locked is in a holding pen for 8 hours but I can't book it online otherwise I would have by now!

Cool!
What car are you in now? Is it the BMW? And are you ready for some autobahn fun if that traffic permits?
I'll make sure we bring the radios, could be handy.
Yeah, I will be in the bmw. I have 40hp on you but about 6 tonnes... I've remapped it and swapped the diff out for a high ratio one (but still open, boo) so it's *slightly* more interesting but still not very. Sounds lovely though

You may have a little less than 40bhp on me after my further remap with new manifold and exhaust going on this Thursday. Should be at around 215bhp or so.
How fast can it go with the roof down? I think you need to find out.
Before I started messing with the gearing it could do 145 with the roof up, but I had 2 passengers in the rear so didn't want to try it with the roof down as I might have lost them! You could tell from the wind noise that the roof was preventing the car from going any faster at that point, the noise was unreal. The coupe model can hit the 155 limiter

Should be fairly evenly matched then on the autobahn. My nav tells me when it's derestricted so will have some fun as there are a number of sections on the way there providing we survive the Antwerp ring road!
My best so far is 141.25mph on the GPS (226 Km/h). Was showing 150 on the speedo somewhere north of Austria a couple of years ago.
Have you got a passenger coming now? Did Si take up your offer?
