Hi folks,

I'm fairly new to this friendly exchange of genius knowledge, of which I'm afraid to say mine is limited

John Rees and Steve b have already shown me how we should slate one another - nice one lads

So, anyway, back to the exhausts - I too prefer 2 pipes, just my opinion but I think it suits the car better. But I do not want a mild steel exhaust as I just want to be able to polish 2 lovely stainless steel ones 8)

From what I read, this rules out NUR Spec and Departure?

Sorry to be so picky but does anyone know the best stainless steel 2 pipe exhaust?

Cheers

Yep - also depends how loud you want it to be. If you're planning to do any trackdays, the limit is 98dB on the quieter tracks.

I'm really surprised no one has mentioned the Hayward and Scott custom systems - they made it up to a custom spec that John Luck and I gave them a few years back, and there have been a few group buys for them on the email list.

The standard one fitted to the car sounds like this:

The Heyward and Scott system:

http://www.btinternet.com/~netsurf/mr2t ... d_blip.mp3
http://www.btinternet.com/~netsurf/mr2t ... _truck.mp3

I can't find a better pic at the moment, but here's what it looked like as it was fitted to my '2

The Mongoose is cheaper, but there used to be fitment issues with it - it used to be too close to the rear bumper - apparently these should have been fixed though by now.

Joey, just because it isn't 5" and doesn't look out of place doesn't mean it doesn't look much

I prefer subtle improvements in tone with the car - thats my mojo

Hey Luize..

Is that yours? If so, a good way of showing the rear end off + the dep2 is to bend that bit of black grill out the way, up, behind the rear bumper. Take a look at the piccy of my car on the 2nd page of this thread. Makes it look like a new bumper.

I'm not on about the size, i'm on about the finish, for a £500 exhaust it's not exactly well finished
