May be not as bad as you feared then Alex

If its just a warped head & duff rad problem :)

Block surface looked a bit rough on those pics you put up

Have you found a good used rad ?

Wonder if getting it re-cored would be an economical idea ?

The block is also badder than first though. Had an engineer come and have a look at it.

Its actually worse as the corrosion leads into the piston barrel. I have been advised to JB weld this area and it should last until the summer.

In the meantime I will buy a block, strip it, get it checked out, rebuild the shells and bearings and then put that in when the weather is better. I'll then have a rebuilt bottom end and a flat head.

Peter, I am buying a new radiator.
