Hello guys
I'll introduce myself later! But first I just have to post in this topic.
For some time now there is a thread going on the Dutch Mr2 forum about the Mr2 and lighting.

Many choices, mucho dinero's ... that sucks.
But I saw a mod that is very attractive.

It keeps the Stock OEM look, but isn't that high rising as one.

Now Astir4ever.. are these lights produced by you ?
If yes.. Please put me on the list.

maybe I have already e-mailed you ( it was supplies by a friend who already bought these lights )but if not, can we exchange information required for shipping and payment )

this is great!

greetings from a dutchie

( Trans : Those are not the same ones )

These

are not the same ones as

these..

The ones on the red car are more rectangular ( don't know if it is spelled correctly  ) And in my opinion way cooler

then the ones on the green Mr2. Those are kinda gay.

Astir4ever... wich ones do you sell?

Okay, am only starting to get the lights out now and look at the GTO light option.

But, I have a question - the GTO lights are 4"x6" - so, they will be slightly narrow to fill the width of the stock headlight housing.

So, the Hella 550's are approx 3.75" x 7.69" - they just about fit ? Also, when I looked them up, they seem to be just a H3 ? So, that won't give me the Hi/Lo beam and so, not road legal ?

Hi Mate

The GTO light look good in the 3rd pic. What are the motorbike lights you have tried in the pics ? I take it the bike headlights will use H4 bulbs ?

You've certainly looked at a lot of options !

I like some of the bike lights - just emailed this place to check the height and depth. Do the same guidelines apply to bikes in terms of being e-marked ? i.e. the beam is to shine to the left ? is this the same on bikes ? or is their beam just required to go forward and not to the left as well ?

I dont know the ruling on motor bike lights regarding beam pattern sorry ,Some do take a standard H4 bulb
i was looking at these the other week ,should look good with the twin lights

They look nice and so does the price :)

He says it comes with 12v/25w hi/lo beam and a spare 6v/25w bulb.

For a car, i guess we would need a H4 on each side for hi/low and a H7 for an extra beam ?

I Googled the 12v/25w and it doesn't seem to be the H4 style bulb.

So, might not be an option :(

He told me they take a standard bayonet type bulb
doesn't have to be H4 though ,just need to change the fitment on the wire end ,After all motorbikes have main beam and dipped the same as a car
the sidelight bulbs wouldn't be needed so just block off the hole with a grommet, for £20 i might buy one anyway just to satisfy my curiosity

i think i still have the motorbike light i tried if you want it ?

Not to worry - I think I will start on the GTO lights anyway and keep an eye out for a motorbike light.

How come you didn't settle on the GTO lights ? You want to fill the full 7" width ?

The one you're looking at seems to be the best size. Any other bike headlights I have seen so far - if they are 7" wide, they tend to be near 5" high. This one is only 4.33" :)

Apologies - I don't fully get what you mean about the H4. As they stand, the headlight will accept a standard bayonet fitting. I thought that the "older" bayonet type fittings were all for lower wattage bulbs - so, you won't find a 55/60w in that fitting ? you might get a 25/30w ?

Forgive my ignorance - but if you blanked off the side light, then you only have one of your twin setup working ?? Or are there twin lights plus a side-light in each housing ?

This is just my guessing ! Off to do some research on motorbike bulbs ....

I suppose - even if we can only get lower wattage bulbs, we would use a set of 30/35w bayonet style.

Then, have both on all the time, so low beam would be 60w and high beam 70w. Thats near enough to 55/60w :)
