Thanks for the comments chaps. :thumleft:

Body shop bits, by that you mean the respray? It was done in a local paint shop. The guys made a GREAT job of it.

There's still loads to get done over the next few months before it's ready for track.

There'll be an update over the next 2-3 weeks, which will include:

Fitting rebuilt gearbox (bought and waiting)
Fitting radiator (will be here on Monday!)
Fitting new Toyota ignition leads (bought and waiting)
Fitting full polybush kit, including ARB bushes (bought and waiting)
Fitting glass mount aerial (bought and waiting)
Full 4 wheel laser alignment/tracking (will be done after polybush)

After that, all I have to buy is brakes and tyres!

Had a headache with this the past week....

Someone sold me a rev2 turbo gearbox, not a rev3, so that didn't fit. I've ended up sending my own box away to get refurbed/rebuilt (at god knows what price - picking it up tomorrow).
The clutch I ordered wasn't the same as what got delivered (clutch also here tomorrow).
Brakes were ordered and the front discs were missing from the order ( also here tomorrow).
The supplier I had in mind for my braided hoses in the end was talking xxxx and couldn't supply them for MR2 turbo's. Lucky for me Aaron_Dean has sent me his special delivery so I'll get them tomorrow. Top bloke! :thumleft:
All the suspension parts is off the car at the moment getting polybushed.

All of this when I'm leaving at 6-7am on Friday morning for the Nurburgring! And I've still to sort a camera mount out!!!!

The next thing that'll go wrong is something with the bushing knowing my luck...

Sometimes I wonder why I bother!

Thanks mate.

Just dropped the box off so that'll be fitted tonight.
Bushes are 50% done.
Brake hoses are on.
Clutch is on.
Still no sign of my brakes though! :( hopefully tomorrow morning!

Tracking is booked for tomorrow afternoon.

I'm losing faith!!

Well, my trip to the Ring was short lived...
We got all the way down to the Junction 22 on the M25 ring road and the car starting overheating resulting in this:
Image
A couple of hours later we got it sorted and continued on.
Only later, this happens:
Image
Major electrical fault resulting in the car nearly going on fire between Junction 25 & 26.

The overheating was due to either a water hose being slightly loose, and the electrical is due to ignition.

We got the car recovered and ended up getting a hire car (VW Fox) and drove back home to Scotland through the night.
Totally gutted. I'm now away to get blind-drunk in sorrow!

Just rebooked for the end of July.

Well, I've thought about selling it a few times but I can't do it. So it's got me to where I am at the moment... My plan is to make it a track car.

I have decided that I am not going to chase huge power and risk reliability, so I plan on focusing on :

Making my current spec more efficient and reliable
Weight reduction & car balance
Braking
Handling

Today I got the car corner weighed. The car weighed in at 1219kg with 1/3 of a tank of fuel and without me in it. 1309kg with me in it! Yes, I will be dieting!
The guy that done the corner weighing for me told me that 'ideally' I will get the two cross weights equal, or as close to. These weights are based on a car that didn't have the tyre pressures checked prior to weighing and not knowing if the coilovers are equally/unequally adjusted (heights wrong etc). So this has gave me a good starting point...

Ignore the date at the top of the page... The guy is a couple of days behind!
