Good call on the CD's, going to get the ipod refreshed with some different beats. Run Rig would be class going through the highlands!! already got them on the pod

Fluids checked / topped up, tyre pressure adjusted, exhaust is fairly ok.

Will get the tank topped up with Optimax in the morning.

looking forward to tomorrow

Hi All

I would just like to thank everyone that attended the Scenes of Scotland trip and made this one hell of a good trip. Fantastic from start to finish.

The weather was a bit mixed but this never affected the cars or the trip. We had wet dry and sunny but the views were still spot on

Thanks to the 2 Mr2s that turned up at Huntly to see us away even when they were not attending the trip.

We had 14 cars on the Saturday in total and 16 on the Sunday. By the time some of these guys get home they will have covered 1600 miles. :thumleft: Thats a great effort.

All Mr2s bar one which was the Noble of Carl Windsor :D. The mk1 out numbered the mk2 however. Thinks thats a first up here.

I am sure that there will be lots of photos on here shortly and i will attend to mine once we get them downloaded. This may not be till later on however as i am heading off in the roadster for the rest of the week

Mike Sheavills refused the Haggis on Saturday night as he prefers it running about in the hills. #-o That was great michael i will have a chuckle on that one for a while.

Susan has now recovered from the saturday night session with Ali and i am sure the famous quote of sorry im pished will be remembered.

There were a few weird guys up there though and i know they will be on here they had lovely hats and ginger hair

Jinxy i look forward to arranging the write up for the Mr2 Mag with you so i will be in contact soon.

Max i look forward to seeing your photos once you get time all 300-400 of them :thumleft:

A brilliant time was had by all.

I have been asked if i will run this again next year

Who am i to refuse.

Lets see a show of hands then.

yup, I'm in for next year :thumleft:

It was an awesome time and the memory of myself and mark trying to put up those fecking tents on saturday in a howling gale with rain lashing down is going to live with me a good time yet. Wouldn't be surprised if a video turns up on you tube - look at these tubes #-o   We got there in the end :thumleft: .

Fantastic company, fantastic roads a brilliant time for sure. I'll get some pics up soon

:) Shaun put me and Mays name down to :thumleft: I think you new that already, Susan and yourself should be commended for this trip, the organisation was 100%. there were no hitches at all :thumleft: May and I would also like to thank all who attended this little :D trip, it was truly awesome there are so much memory's that will stay with us for the rest of our lives, My photos have already been sent to the legend Jinxy. From the outset at Huntly The cameras in all cars were snapping away even when the weather turned a bit, Sasha and Max especially must have some really fantastic shots i think Sasha was more out of the car when we were on the move than in it, the run up to Ullapool was fantastic the twisties are great for the MK1, after getting to Ullapool on time :thumleft: some of the group went out for a look around the local shops then some refreshments cos we were all thirsty, then back to the royal hotel for a freshen up and then out for a bit to eat and refreshments the meal was top notch and the company to,( Michael I must commend you on not having the Haggis cos its a little live animal that runs round the highlands :D :thumleft: ).
Day 2
Some more memories. Got up early to check the oil toped up, then had breakfast, I think we were all a little concerned about Allan and Mark who were the two who decided to camp, brave lads but no in they stroll in the morning ready for breakfast. All are fed and watered, Met up with two drivers that had come through from Inverness to join up with us, out in the car park we spotted some classic vans and get chatting to the owners, there is a run held every year for classic lorries and light commercials the east coast to west coast run glad they didn't come the same route as our lot, one of the organisers of the east coats to west coast run decided he was going to have a photo shoot of all our mr2s this guy was adamant so we all had to form a semicircle with the cars so he could have his video and snaps, was good fun he was a right character he had a few of us laughing away. We are ready for the off Cars fueled and us to, at this point the heavens opened up about 15 miles out of Ullapool the rain stops and the drive and photo opportunities become great ,we are heading towards Lochinver on a single track road, now i have been on this road before fantastic drive and views but what i and the others did not now was Shaun had something up his sleeve :thumleft: Shaun turns of a few miles along the road, I shall call this part the mountain route o boy was this good there were twists and turns dips and rises, lochs, rivers and shear drops, Shaun this part tested every driver on there driving skills :thumleft: and all past with flying colours be proud all cos this was a very testing part of the trip, we clear this and go on to Lochinver we stop for a short rest break park up all in a line across the car park and a it was some sight. set of again heading for Scourie great drive up to Scourie Then one of the Inverness drivers that turned up to meet us at Ullapool was asked to take the lead :thumleft: as he new where we could get some lunch in Durness and he knew the road well this was a fantastic part the twists and turns were great :thumleft: . Had some lunch then of again the heavens open up and the rain still didn't stop us enjoying the drive. We get to connan bridge and the sun comes up all the way back to Inverness and have to part company with the two local guys these guys are top notch and we appreciated there company again :thumleft: We all arrive at our respective travel lodges safe and trouble free. We all then meet up in the Snow goose restaurant to reminisce about the past few days, where did the last two days go it just flew past :D :D :D Now just a little foot note out of all the cars that were on the trip the only thing that went wrong with any of the cars was one tail light bulb needed to changed a testament to the owners and Toyota.
Bill and May are very Happy driver ad navigator who have met a Fantastic group of people

I cant beleive that Jinxy blew out the haggis, i probably eat it once every couple of weeks but as it's packaged from Sainsburys it's probably not the real thing
But i was up in the Highlands a couple of years ago, they had it on the menu and i loved it!!!
Great to hear you all had a great time, if i make it next time i will make sure Jinxy eats it

Thanks for the responses guys. It makes it all worth while when you enjoy yourselves.

Bill thats a great write up there and your right about the toyotas. Bullet proof.

Steve, Jinxy will eat anything, he did have a glass of prawns in Ullapool. This is not the rubbish you buy from the local Supermarket. You get them in a pint glass and have to peel them yourself. It took Jinxy about 30 mins to get the job done but he did say it was worth it.

Pete & Reema. I knew you guys enjoyed it as Reema saw a Highland cow and Pete you only fell asleep once during the day ( At Lunch) but had a huge smile after being on some of that roads.

Jo you did miss yourself thats for sure.

Well the party is still going here, can't bloody get rid of Jinxy, if he stays any longer he's going on Ebay!!!

Fantastic weekend, can't really put it into words, I think the pictures once posted will tell the story, in particular those 4 dodgy Scottish blokes in tartan hats who kept crashing the party!!

Thanks everyone who made it AWESOME!!!!!

Jinxy, GO HOME MAN......
