I'm with Tesco, it is £500 fully comp on my Rev 3 turbo, I'm 23 with 3 years no claims. You need to phone them for a quote if it's an import though, but I've always been happy with them :thumleft:

Thats a really good price tbh, didn't know they insured drivers under 25 on these types of cars?

LOL I agree. Elephant dont even know what mods are :oldtongue: . I went to get a quote, told them it had a uprated intercooler and they didnt even know what a intercooler was. Was put on hold for 5 mins while he went to find out and the people he asked didnt even know!!! Then they said they cant insure cars that have dump valves fitted!!! WTF   !!!???

Yup, Admiral told me the same - they couldn't insure my car because it had a dump valve. Apparently makes it more likely to be stolen
I said it makes it less likely coz I'd hear them driving off in it :oldtongue:

I've just been on Admiral.com and had a quote as Miss Rhiannan Mercer and one as Mr Richard Mercer ( ) and they were exactly the same! Both were £635.41 for fully comp.
So you blokes will have to stop moaning about us girls getting cheaper car insurance now :oldtongue:
I guess my insurance is so cheap coz of the area I live in, it's a small town with not much crime :-k

Not true. I was rear ended and claimed direct through the other drivers insurance but my quotes as a minimum of 10% higher when I include information regarding the claim.

Classic insurance can be cheap but you don't build any no claims bonus. I've used Norton for the past couple of years for my modified Mk1 - 7500 mile limit, only car, kept on driveway - costs around £500.

If TP cover the total claim, i.e non-fault (not patial fault 50/50) but as you said it was rear ended so i guess it was non-fault and covered and paid by TP you prem shouldn't be affected. Prem's most likely go up in line with inflation and WHY. Im not sure why yours went up 10% when you included info about the claim :-k

I'm confused by people's responses regarding the Bell insurance group (also covers Elephant and Admiral). Certainly on their online quotation system, which you can then purchase your policy from, you can select Toyota MR2 IMPORT TURBO which is exactly as my car is listed on my insurance documents. I was then asked if the car was modified, and presented with a tick-sheet of modification options, including full bodykit, exhaust, intake, wheels, etc. As far as I'm aware you can't have an unmodified tubby without a dump valve, as taking it off would constitute a modification.

The caveat to their cheap insurance is that they replace modified with standard. My mods aren't worth that much so I don't mind!

Mine was £600 (fully comp) plus £75 for an agreed valuation policy! I'm 27 with 11 years NCD, protected NCD, like-for-like cover and all mods declared O:)

Sky are the only company I'm aware of that do an agreed valuation policy. I'm not even sure they still offer it to new customers any more? :-k

It was exactly the same price as last year, although they tried to charge me more
