Just buy a console. All the games for them work on them and they're cheaper.

I played the Guitar Hero III demo last night. Mucho's impressed!!!

Even on the 360 controller it was fun.

I prefer the versitility of a PC, usually play online with ppl i know too and its a better meduim for that sorta thing.

Im sure consoles will catch up one day and be as multi functional tho!

hows that then? people have different specs and are running different settings and alot of the time the games have cheats.

on consoles everyone has the same spec, you get very little cheating and most people have a headset (on 360 anyway).

Well ive known the same bunch of people for about 10 years and we've played most of the stuff thats been out together :)

The cheating thing isnt really an issue, just play on servers that have friendly admins...

I guess theres an advantage if your hardware is better as your running a game in smoother detail but thats life if you cant keep up :oldtongue:

I prefer to play rts and fps games anyway and they tend to be better when youve got a mouse and keyboard rather than a joypad!

Nope, BF3 is a brand new standalone game...

Breaking: Battlefield 3 Leaked Info
October 9, 2007
A tipster sent us PDF document which looked like an outline of features for Battlefield 3. The three page document is apparently prepared for investors which should get it by December of this year. It details basic features of BF3, and are as listed:

Release in late 2008
Powered by “Frostbite DX”
Set in year modern day (just like BF2, ed.)
Will ship with 8 maps, each supporting up to 40-players per team
Two playable factions, NATO and MEC (Middle Eastern Coalition)
Same “ticket-based” gameplay style as before
Maps are mostly urban, based in Middle East
Squads and Commanders are present, introduced are “Battalions” which consist of three to four squads.
Five playable classes; Sniper, Assault, Engineer, Medic and Support
Will feature 48 different vehicles (24 for each faction)
Will feature 34 different weapons (17 for each faction) and another 22 unlocks (for both factions), in total 56 different weapons.
Other unlocks include different types of ammunition, body armor, helmets, camouflage and accessories.
Possible public beta in “Summer 2008″
Online stats tracking, awards and “real world ranks”
“Soldier” feature, looks like MMO-styled characters and avatars
Ranked servers will be available for resellers weeks before the game ships (for testing, apparently, ed.)
In-game replay and recording feature
VoIP, friends list, in-game IM-client and “extensive clan support”
Built-in auto software updater (no more patches!, ed.)
Widows Vista and OS X (no XP?!, ed.)
Announcement and teaser trailer in January 2008.
A map is mentioned by name, called “Baghdad Burning”, and appears to be a massive urban map, similar to BF2’s very popular “Strike at Karkand”. The game is powered by “Frotbite DX”, currently the Frostbite engine is used in Battlefiled: Bad Company on PS3 and Xbox 360. The “DX” could refer to DirectX (10?), a PC version of the Frostbite engine.

Please note that none of this is confirmed, we’ve emailed a few people from EA and DICE (Battlefield developers) and will update the article as soon as we know more. Also note that we cannot, for obvious (legal) reasons, release the PDF document. Stay tuned for more info.

Interesting stuff! :o

I loved BF2 but EA dont like supporting their own games and seem to love deliberately pushing newer stuff

The best BF2 maps were the urban ones with less empathsis on vehicles! Oh and the underslung nade launchers in that game were a thing of beauty, landing one into the middle of an enemy squad and watching them fly \:D/

Have i mentioned i love fps?

 Well yes, in the time a joypadder takes to turn around in an fps, you can circular strafe something and turn it into swiss cheese

How are Keyboards more useful than a joypad?

I can only use about 4 digits at any one time

You only really use about 5 or 6 keys when playing an FPS on a PC

Generally its, W and S to move forwards and backwards. Then A and D to sidestep left to right. The Mouse is actually used to look around in full 360 degrees. Spacebar is jump with some misc keys like E and R being use item or reload. Left mouse button is usually fire and right mouse is usually something like zoom the gun. Mousewheel is often to change weapons.

It sounds alot but its very natural once your used to it :thumleft:

Dont really see how 4 buttons to move left, right, forward and backward is easier or better than one stick that does all movements in fine detail?
