Just buy a computer and some games and have a little fun every now and then.

It's not a case of which every one thinks is better it's a case of what you like.

People who sit indoors on a games console for 10 hours a time getting compulsive over them worry the xxxx out of me tbh.

I used to have a 360 but sold it to get a PS3, All round the PS is better value for money the fact you get a Blu-Ray player really sold it for me.

There are some great games out for the PS3 like Heavenly Sword which is awsome just a bit to short.

At the end of the day it's up to you but I would recomend the PS3 as it's more versatile being able to play Blu-Ray movies along with being one of the best up-scaling DVD players plus built in wi-fi and no rip off xbox live to pay.PS3 beats the 360 hands down IMO

My cousin bought his 360 in april or thereabouts. The guy at game reckons his and others sold thne after should be ok. He does play it a hell of a lot let me tell you lol.

EA recently started talking about the same thing and they reckon in 10 years there will be jus one platform for all games to be played on.

i think aslong as they keep up the effort thitey currently put in due to competition then it would be a great idea.

Well lets be honest. It is possible. You don't have to buy the same pc to be able to play on line do you? So I'm sure they could do it if they wanted to. Other then that 's just press talk "look at us" etc etc.

They are GAME CONSOLES people!!! Its not about "whats better...360 or PS3?" Its down to the games, nothing else.

The 360 has FAR more games and FAR better games at the moment than the PS3. You can't argue that because it does........and Xbox Live is excellent.

Dont really understand why people go on about the internals - as Thai says its a games console, I dont care what its got inside I just want it to play games. I dont even care if they are not the sharpest most realistic graphics as long as I enjoy the game.

Truth is there is next to no difference in graphics on the games which are available across both platforms - anyone that claims so is being a nause.

Both consoles have pro's and con's. For me the 360 has more pro's namley a massive games catalogue. The major con was the reliability, mine has worked perfectly since exchanged. I just wish the 360 wasnt so loud - top tip, nice set of wireless headphones.

Just how much games do you need ? Ive had my ps3 a couple of months now ive got 4 games (aint completed them all yet) and ive got 6 bluray films ,I have a life (fixing up mk1 ) so at the moment i dont care whos got more as long as the games i want come out on the ps3

Thats great, but when you have to make an investment you do so, not just for what is available at the moment, you do so for what will be available in the future, given that if you are going to spend £400 odd quid, you want to ensure that over the next five years you can continue to get good use out of it.

Not many people can afford to buy both systems so it becomes a matter of weighing up the pros and cons of each.

The speed developments are made in electronics the next, next gen series of consoles will be out and they will be bigger and more powerful. The PS3 will be positively retro! Now consoles have moved into next gen the following developments will come thick and fast and the machines will just get more and more powerful. MS are already working on the 360 upgrade which will have double the power or something stupid like that.

I cant see any logic in your statement I would rather be playing loads of games now and enjoying the console than having nothing to play but I might have a choice of games in a year and a bit time. Surely having the console that has more games available for it now is the better idea.

The argument that really does grind my gears is this whole "PS3 has built in blueray player"

I know the prices have changed and both consoles have gone down now but do the maths. (based on when PS3 was released)

Xbox 360 PREMIUM pack + HD DVD drive= £279.99 + £129.99 = £409.98
PS3 = £425

Not rocket science....

Not every one has an HD TV so it's a complete rip off IMO making the PS3 only available with Blueray playerand charging the earth for it.
Now I know the PS3 has got cheaper but then so has the 360...

i really don't see the arguement of there being fewer games as an valid one. Know one is going to buy ALL the games. There will always be a game you have not played to keep you going. Not a arguement at you james or anyone else just pointing that out. In terms of Big name games then yeah, it makes sense the 360 has been out longer so it will have more of those.

There won't be a PS4 or new Xbox within 5 years, not enough people would be prepared to throw away their current consoles so soon.
And of course M$ are working on a new xbox and Sony on the PS4, it's always been like that. Just look how long the PS1 & PS2 were in production.

Anyway, as already said, it's about the games....
