Like for like if you consider just how much money the Porkey cost I would honestly say the MR2 comes out tops in all respects 8) They are matched from a build/reliability point of view so he has no argument there. They are both rwd mid engines cars and so are both tail happy in their own ways, and the tubby also has the edge on speed too \:D/

Sorry ..... if someone came up to me and said I'll swap my 911 na for your MR2 I'd say yes. Purely because then I can drive a 911, rather than a 13 year old toyota.

BUT - I have raced and beaten a 911 GT2 (the turbo one from a few years back) at the drag way - he beat me off the launch and I pulled him back in all gears and passed him by the finish. So my car when running a little nitrous could beat one of the quickest porsche 911s you could buy - on the day.

Horses for courses, but I'd bet a porsche 911 would open more legs than an MR2
Small turbos - they're not big and they're not clever!

Just say NO to small turbos!

Your last comment is the main reason for me not wanting one. I really do enjoy driving around in what I think to be great looking car but without people knowing what it can do. The whole sleeper thing really does appeal to me. The Porkeys are just too obvious for my liking!

Theres a black 911 turbo that lives in my building. Its got tinted windows and looks absolutely fking fantastic. I'd give my right nut for that car lol.

I have more respect for say a 911 turbo, than a slow 911 bought for status.

Sleeper effect is one of the reasons I bought my MR2 Turbo.

Where I am, not many people know that it comes in Turbo form and they think they're just about to whoop a car that's had it's day.

Just to add. I've also raced a fair few Porches since having the MR2. And I can't think of any other car that gives me so much pleasure to beat. The look on the faces of their owners is priceless, like they could cry! I mean just how gutted would you feel to have spent 50k plus only to be beaten by a 13 yr old Jap mobile

I know what ya mean! I love the idea of not many people thinking MR2's have Turbos 8-[

I hear he's selling the "bat-mobile" what's he gonna get instead ? - something more "chuckable" - he said to me he was fed up with too much power and spinning the rear wheels all the time..
failing all that maybe he could get an Ford Focus ? :-k :clown:
