I most certainly dont. I only have a problem with people that make ridiculous statements like the one above.

mr2nut123 wrote:with my standard(ish) rev2 tubby with 15psi i managed a 13.6 at 101mph down york raceway....how is it 350-400bhp+ mr2s are only managing 13's??

My comment was meant in ridicule of mr2nut123's first post.

The team did exceptionally well, and I was the first to congratulate all on their performance.

Get you facts right pal

My apologies Toni. Just get wound up by people jumping to conclusions.

Statement retracted.

I found the grip at Elvinton to be better than the strips at Pod and Shakey county. The abrasive surface really helps the tires dig in. Just drop the tires pressures so you get a nice fat contact patch. Obviously big wheels and rock hard suspension dosnt help.

Dont know if they changed the format this year but I would have been inclinded to attack the handling circuit first, then when you have had your 3 runs, convert the car for drag racing and rip the back shocks off and fit some old and tired stock shocks and springs - for maximum squat when you launch hard off the line. Shouldnt take long to pop the back shcoks off.

Still good on everyone for their efforts regardless of results, its all about taking part and having some fun. Just wished I could have been there - sadly I was throwing all my worldly posessions into storage.

Its got me really tempted to buy another MR2 turbo. I have drawn up some plans for a really savage MR2, its just getting around to it. If anyone spots a Rev3, with shabby bodywork going for chips with a dead engine let me know.

To be honest I couldn't agree more with you on your point about Elvington being a very grippy surface. Last year I had no issues with traction what so ever, managing a 1.4 sec 60ft time. Granted I had a lot more power this year, new over hard suspension all combined with a car that I had spent next to no time in getting to know/learn it's ways.

Which has got me thinking... The lane I chose to run in all day long was the right hand lane. This lane had one car drop all of it's oil onto the start line followed by a 2nd car dropping all of it's coolant on the start line also! Unlike the pod where they stop play and then burn off any spills and then treat the surface there after, at TOTB they simply covered the area with what looked very much like sand, and then told the drivers to straddle the area when launching !? Less than ideal i'm sure you'll agree :(

Well that would definatley explain the traction issues people were having! Very poor, you think they would have done more to clean the oil up.

Cheers
