Aint hard to do, even from a standing start.

Ok, firstly a 2005 WRX has 221bhp, and does 5.7.The UK WRX300 has 261bhp and does 4.8.
The 2004 WR1 Sti has 315bhp and does 4.1.
These numbers are even in Parkers online for all to see!!
Rikki, interesting to note that yes, on the run where your raced Gordon you beat him, but you quote your fastest time there of 13.544 during all runs.Gordons is 13.329.
Infact he ran a few under 13.5 during his runs!! Bad example dude, cherry picking specific results, you lose all credibility

EDIT: Rikki, where on your crail website link does it say Gordon's car is 300+bhp? it says"up to 2000cc Turbo" and his is referred to as an STi.
Doesn't even say what year?!?!?!?!! Classic STi's are around 276bhp, later ones are 261 etc.

Looks like a normal STi to me.Huge difference between an STi and an STi Type-R/RA! Huge!
Just to give you an idea, a well driven 300BHP Type-R/RA do 12.5 seconds all day long! I did a 12 flat with 360BHP!
Good times though!

no, i haven't been impressed by them.

Saying that, most new cars will still be under warranty, so owners are probably reluctant to play about too much in the engine bay.

luthor1 wrote:lol Rikki!!
If you talk classic shape, then 300bhp scooby is quicer 0-60/0-100/1.4mile but not top speed.Reasons are traction, and gearing mainly, the scooby managing 100mph in 3rd quite easily, and onto 140mph in 4th it's no slouch at the top either.
The Scooby AWD system isn't as restrictive as you'd imagine, and don't forget the scoob and the MR2 weigh the same!!
Round a track the scoob has a much better chassis and would win there almost always bhp for bhp.
I have plumbed the numbers into CarTest and it predicts the Scoob to win.For those doubting thomas's, CarTest is obviously fictitious, and not
"real" however it's algorithms are at least consistent and the virtual driver changes gear at the same rate each time, and the tyres are of uniform grip.

A work collegue had a 97 Type-R 2 door with increased boost and other bits and bobs, my car back then was running with std boost and only a decat and exhaust.
They were neck and neck all the way to about 130mph then I'd start pulling away.

I know for a fact a real Type-R pulls all the way to 160MPH+, but some of the earlier ones had even shorter gear ratios and topped out at 125MPH.You may well have raced one of those!
