Thats a shame, I hope you get a quick/good resolution to this situation.
I must confess that I do tend to trust IMOC members more than I would trust joe public or ebay people. If I was told an item was in a certain condition then thats how I would expect it to be
(within reason) and if it came from an IMOC member I wouldn't have even thought of getting it checked I would just assume that its OK.

anna wrote:2.Do not use IMOC as a tool to sort grievances.
You may post an experience to warn others, as long as there is no reference to the other party involved.
If an
'experience' thread descends into name calling etc, it will be locked and possibly moved.
3.Buyers and sellers should always sort out grievances between themselves, privately.
IMOC is not a support forum for Affiliates:
While it may be used for comparing, judging the content/ value of affiliate products and services, we do not allow IMOC to be used as the primary means for bad mouthing
(or victimizing) or for negative discussion.
All issues should be resolved in private with an Affiliate.
No Libellous posts:
If you believe you have received a bad product or bad service, having initially raised the issue with the Company or individual concerned, ensure that only a fully factual account is posted to the forum.

So why did you post in the first place Harry?.

start asking others to respect the
"law" when you yourself start.

Using IMOC to publically tell the seller your actions and therefor drag their name through the dirt before they have had time or a chance to explain/ get back to you.
If you've given them time, if you have then gone down your chosen route of renumeration, come back and let people know your experiences- but to do it this way is wrong in my book
- and then to see you type the above quoted makes me laugh and shake my head

Sorry Mods if I've overstepped the mark, or if this leads to a lockdown- but it's just hypocrisy

as everyone else is having their say.
items bought privately off imoc CAN'T really be expected to be"guaranteed".
![]()
Items bought off affiliates
, i think the buyer has a right to expect it to be at least useable.
Harry's lost out.![]()
The member he bought off is probably as shocked as him.
![]()
If the members an affiliate, then i would expect that person to have a good idea as to if the part is useable or not.
![]()
Normal members i wouldn't expect to have so much knowledge.
![]()
If the clutch had never been on the original sellers car, i would have thought he could feel confident, describing it as the same condition it was described in when sold to him.
![]()
How else could he know
?
Can't have a go at Harry for buying things in a normal"For Sale", especially if he realises there may be a profit with that part.
![]()
That's what he does, he's a trader, and as such makes profit as and where he can.
![]()
Fair enough.

In an earlier post, Harry said

-
"we trade here so i might buy mr2 goods from any where global, here
at imoc and re-sell them at a slight profit but consider that we take a risk."
Think this is where the risk hasn't paid off this time maybe?

If Harry hasn't already, i think he should get in touch with whoever sold him the clutch, and if the problem can be sorted out amicably.![]()
BUT
- it
doesn't help that when Harry tried to re-sell the clutch, he said it wasn't bought off IMOC but in Japan
.
.
.
then retracted that statement and said it was the IMOC supplied one.

Harry- other thing i'd say
- don't let THor just sling that clutch in the skips, it may be your only way of proving your case, so make sure they send it back to you.

Good luck with sorting something out, your customer is just lucky that your priciples are such that you allowed the clutch to be tested before fitting.
