So does that mean that everyone has been wrong in calling the thing on the back of their cars a spoiler???????? :shock:

Are you trying to tell us that we all have wings, as the rev1/2, rev3/4, and rev5 spoilers, sorry WINGS all allow airflow under them! :-k

Yes, technically the "thing" on the back of the stock MR2 is a wing since it allows air flow under it.

A spoiler is connected to the trunk lid with no gaps under it.
They perform differently.

The front air dawn, that sits below the bumper is also a "spoiler" as it is intended to spoil the air flow under the car.
