Is that before I finish of with Autoglym Super Resin? Thankfully I've got plenty of Super Resin hanging about already, just a shame my paintwork colour's so hit and miss

The Autosmart cutting compounds you mentioned, I'm going to try and lay my hands on some and at specialist auto shop I know but from what you've said I may have a wasted journey. In which case, there are most likely numerous cutting compounds on the market, do the R4, R3, R2 etc have a standardised level of grain/coursness in them in the same way that sandpaper does? So that I may be able to pick up some alternative compounds of a similar staggered coursness? Thanks :)

If you are doing a lifshine you need to cut the paint back and then finish with your super resin autoglym.
Then apply the lifeshine. Then it will gleam forever. You can pick a lifeshine kit up for about £20 on ebay!
If a valeter was to do a lifeshine valet it would be £150 plus just for the lifeshine and with the restoration valet it would be £250!
The autosmart cutting compunds can only be bought from the frachiser, every area has one, look on the website and email them for the phone number or alternivately look in the yellow pages.
I can also recommend this site,i used to get some products from these very cheap and do a good job!

yes matey!
it will look awesome after mate!
you will only need to polish every 6 months with super resin.
All you will need to is wash and leather dry each week!

Farecla G3 is my recommendation. I know a few guys in the trade and they swear by it. Also it must be good because Halford's don't stock it ha ha. G3 doesn't cut the paint like T-Cut, but removes surface oxidation in some other way. This means that you need to re-do it every six months or so, but you won't end up taking off layers of paint like a normal cutting compound and ending up down to the primer (before anybody laughs I have seen this happen).

yes thats how the restore kit works from Autosmart mate,im from the trade and is absolutely brilliant.
Farcela is alright but you get burn marks from it as its too dry and you have to wet it,i recomend autosmart because you dont with that mate and its trade only!

Well this weekend - I'm sad to say that I couldn't find the Autosmart products in any of the four shops I tried. :( And each shop I tried had only had one cutting compound of differening makes, if they had any at all. So I wasn't able to get 3 or 4 differing gradients of compound - or certainly I wasn't able to grade one compound in comparisson to an other; there was nothing on the tins at all to give me an idea in which order I should use them :? But I did get an orbital polisher now which I'll use for the cutting at a future date.

That being the case I just polished it with the orbital polisher this weekend with Autoglym Super Resin and it's come up really well, but it still needs the paint cutting. I'm going to try and source the proper Autosmart products and do a proper job of it sometime in the near future.

A big thanks to leicestermr2 tho - you've given me some really good info! :)
