whats hapened to the view all posts since last visit

- like the need to go back to the main page and hit 'mark all posts read' every time you've finished reading threads.

And due to the time delay in doing this, you could mark a new thread which has just been posted as having been read

Yeah that would be alright. But I have just started going through mine to try and reduce the numbers a bit, and it dawned on me that I have to go to each indivdual section to clear them. That can't be right surely?
I don't want to look at ICE and security section every day.

There is a 'Mark all posts read' link on the main index page of the site, underneath the list of all the different sections and above the list of currently logged in members.

I've not been around as long as most of you guys 'n' gals on this thread but, my 2p is that I prefer the new way. It's relatively easy to scan each section for interesting posts and then hit the 'Mark All Topics Read' at the top of each section, or hit the 'Mark All Read' on the index page.

I found that I missed interesting posts because I had to close the browser session before I'd had chance to scan everything in the unread posts section - this way things stay unread until I say it's OK to mark them otherwise.

Just my opinion, not saying that it's the 'correct' way to do things.

the new system is a step backwards.

the previous system was definately better, why do i want to keep having the posts i'm not interested in at all highlighted?
