Unfortunately not  The wheels cant get traction on these wet roads  The sun is trying to get out up here today, so I may have a trip down the coast road at lunch time.

Just seems a bit odd as it has a lot of uprated stuff.. but is only running that much power through it.

Be careful, as it seems the spec of the engine is unknown and the its seriously down on what it was claimed to be making it maybe worth cracking the block open. I have just pulled apart a engine for a chap on the OC to find it had stock internals the pistons being the failure point on his engine. The car had all the kit and was making some very good power (400 plus) before it destructed. If the mappers dont know what they are tuning then air on the side of caution.

Does the block look like its been opened? Different colour sealant on the sump and sump pan? etc.

Remember the japs are masters at getting serious power out of the stock block where most UK tuners fail, I would hate for you to destruct your engine.

Cheers

Yeah thats why I decided not to get it remapped until I know whats in there.

Just a question, have you seen an mr2 go past the 300bhp mark with standard fuel injectors? (Are Rev5 injectors different from Rev3).

In reference to the 3 MR2's tested at Thor on Friday all being within a couple of bhp. Were all cars rev3+ with similar "breathing" mods running std injectors. If so, is it safe to assume that 280bhp at the HUBS is about the most you can get out of a rev3+ due to the fueling limitations of the stock system?

You could always raise the fuel pressure to squeese more fuel through the injectors. However its a bit of a fudge.

More fuel is obviously better than not enough.

Can the fuel pressure can be changed on the power fc commander?

Sorry, i have completely hijacked this thread...

fuel pressures a mechanical adjustment... and you'd have to fit an aftermarket type as the stock ones not mechanically adjustable for performance. :eye:

Rev 3 / 5 Turbo injectors are the same. Ie 540cc.

Did Thor tell you, you were running lean then?

BTW a few of us have surpassed over 320BHP (FW) on the standard Rev 3+ injectors.

Turns out it is real, it's a stunning car and the guy who got it is perfect and will love and cherish it as he should.

Turned out it wasn't modified by TRD though wasn't it?

Anyway,

Welcome back mate, Biggest thing is what I call the "SS" = Xxxx Saga.

Eh? It has been tuned by TRD.

Where the hell do these rumours come from?

The figures that came out that day where exactly the same as tubby_tony (good to meet you mate!) and the mr2 that run earlier that day. (1-2Bhp between them, very weird).

I didn't bother getting it remapped until I find out exactly whats in there. Im trying to get hold of miguel from newera as he knows most about the car.

However there is a dyno floating about with 340bhp at the wheels for my car ( from Miguel ).

You didn't read this then.

They didn't say it was running lean.

They just said because the fuel injectors map is set to 100% it has standard fuel injectors. Otherwise it would be running like crap or not running at all.

But if the fuel injectors can be ajusted mechanically, would it be possible to lower the injectors enough to running the injector maps at 100% ??

Im just trying to see if the import place did some severe adjusting to get it through the emissions...

You may have an adjustable fuel pressure regulator under your bonnet !! Have a nosy... if this is the case, then the pressure will have been lowered... so during the injector opening times, less fuel will have been sprayed through to the combustion chamber.

No sorry I posted mine whilst you posted yours.

Answer to that is TRD did use HKS for a lot of it's performance parts.

Nope, don't think TRD made everything.

TRD made a spec list for the car, the customer chose what options they wanted from that spec list.

You could go as far or as little as you wanted.

320 bhp at the fly is what at the hubs? Approx 280 bhp with a 10-12% loss between fly and hub? What % loss cn be expected between fly and hub on the MR2?

I remember reading that HKS and TRD head gaskets are one in the same. May explain why there are HKS parts in there.

I'm at 364fwhp on 540's and that's at 85% duty cycle.
