Yes it is way better.

Fill the tank up, set it up on a dyno and away you go.

Thats not better that 115 octane 8-[ W/m will give you that :thumleft:

Methanol is by far a better fuel than E85 but where are the pumps to just pop in and fill your tank up.

I deal with some not very nice chemicals but nothing is as bad as methanol for a living body.

Considering that there are some stations with E85 around me, I will probably go that way :)
It will probably cost around the same as w/m kit, but the installation (of new rail and injectors) should be easier than connecting whole w/m kit. And it would probably be terrible for the engine if meth would finish during racing.

£125 for a second had meth kit £30 for 5l meth and 5l distilled water.

Its not to pricey .

You could run a separate race tank for e85 so you can run e85 while racing then switch back to 98/99 fuel for economy 8-[

Just a thought :cyclops:

That would be an overkill :D
I will probably decide during the winter time what is the best option for me. However my tuner didn't like the idea of w/m kit when I asked him some time ago.

Run a little meth in with your fuel, say 5 to 10%. it will allow you to advance timing a little (assuming you have a power fc here)

Only thing is though it basically needs to be used that day as meth doesnt mix very well with fuel and separates from it... So i was told

If the fuel was available easily then i'd go for the fuel over the water / meth.

Not saying it doesn't work as in the supra world it was used alot with good results, but in my view you need to be mapped against it to get the bigger benefits. Which then means you need a fail safe if you run out or pump fails which means the ECU needs to be involved to keep boost lower.

Gets complicated quickly compared to just chucking fuel in a tank.

I will be adding a basic high water / meth mix to mine but only to lower chances of det, even if power drops by a few bhp as i'm using it as additional safety measure.

Good for you killerferret .. its abit of a marmite one really , you ether love it of hate it .. but from a safety point of view i think well worth it .

Filling up with fuel and being good to go is obviously the best bet but e85 is so expensive and obviously you need the availability at the pumps you go to.
