Either Chris Wilson's or if you want aftermarket then go for Black Diamond Predators :)

I just want to reiterate my vote for YellowStuff pads. Drove her hard at Anglesey circuit on Saturday and suffered from little to no brake fade at all.

That said, I'd be interested in giving Chris's pads a go, especially if they're cheaper and deliver similar performance.

Pad pricing. Special offer

Post by Chris Wilson »

I am willing to do a short term offer on my fast road pads for the MKI and MKII MR2, all stock factory caliper variants, of £110 plus VAT (£132) for a full car set of pads (front AND rear pads), with FREE insured post and packing to UK postcodes. I will run the offer for a month from now, to see how much interest there is. I have found Skyline and MKIV Supra people very pleased with the compounds. I can only do this offer on full sets of pads, not half sets, although I can supply just front, or just rear pads at a good price, but you would have to cover post and packing. I do not recommend you fit my pads to just one "end" of the car, as brake balance may be impaired.

I can also do a full race pad, but we are talking circa £400 a full car set, and they WILL be dusty and noisy, although they will also work well on the road.

I can do pads for the last MR2 as well, if there's interest I will see what sort of deal I can offer. Thanks.

CW Fast Road Pad set already ordered, cheers Chris :thumleft:

I've no wheels on my wagon though at the moment, so it'll be a another week or 2 until I can give them a proper spirited road test.

That's a good offer Chris, hopefully a reasonable number of people will take you up on it. Personally, I've only just replaced mine but I'll definitely give your pads some consideration next time round.

Received my pads from Chris this week :thumleft: Should have the car back on 4 wheels by the end of next week and can give them a thorough test.

I've had ebc redstuff on fronts only for a couple of months, no probs with fade but not hammered them hard.

Far too much dust. Will try CWs next.

Finally got the car back on the road and managed to test out my new Chris Wilson Fast Road pads. I'm still bedding them but first impressions are very good, they work perfectly from cold and give a good initial bite. I've yet to do some high speed runs with them but if they are anything like the ones I used on the Supra, they should haul the car up very easily.

I'll do a proper review after I've done a few more miles and had a chance to properly bed them in.

This thread was originally about ebc red stuff, don't any moderators act on thread hijacking on here? I'm sure chris's race pads are ok but 400 a set?!!!

I've tried red stuff and they were very good but I would never let them near a track. We use yellow stuff on both track and road and for the money are very good. Redstuff works out about 120 a car and yellow 130.

Even Carbotechs are twice that.

So as the guy asked originally, Redstuff great on road, but be ready to power wash off the dust weekly to keep wheels lovely.

The CW fast road pads I'm using were £132 delivered for a full set, front and rear.

I ran red stuff on track and have no specific complaints, no fade and plenty of bite once warm. If anything they take a bit long to get heat into on the road.

Chris, is there a recommended bedding in process for your pads? I need some for the track car but am told I'd need new discs with Carbotechs. I'd like to find some that perform well in track but don't need new discs.

..the only thing I can promise for sure is slow progress.

May 2015
just have this niggling thought that if I rip out the wiring, then the car will never get out of the garage again.

Still in the garage...
