I'm doing the Sump plug adapter on my Rev2 track car for now for the Oil Temp.

As its a Rev2 and the oil filter is inches from the exhaust manifold I didn't think putting a Temp sensor there would the smartest or most accurate manor to get a reading.

I will be doing a Sandwhich plate for Oil pressure eventually.

Hopefully all is well with sump plug adapter otherwise BrandsHatch isn't going to be very happy with us lol.

rev2 oil filter location sucks - you're right not to put a temp sensor there. But it might be easier for you to use a T-piece on a braided hose for oil pressure rather than a sandwich plate. Just a thought

Indeed, Where is the location to fit the Braided line on a Rev2 ?

Oil pressure switch is same location on all revisions - n/s/f corner of head. But use it for pressure sensor, not temp. sensor.

On rev3+ oil pans (deffo on the 3s-gte and diagram look identical on 3s-ge) there are three 3/8" BSP threaded plugs. Rather than mucking around with sump plug adaptors or sandwich plates, you can plumb in your oil sensors (both temp and pressure) in there instead:

One 3/8BSP to 1/8NPT per sender plus PTFE tape on fitting will sort you out:

(Can't get this forum software to understand that as a full URL - you have to C&P, sorry!)

A very neat solution and directly comparable with sandwich plate readings :thumleft:

This was very helpful, thnx!!!
