A huge thanks to all that came yesterday to help. :)

Thank you to Steve, Lee, Mike, Martin, Tom, Si, Alex, Sarah and of course Mark. :)

We got everything out all okay, though unfortunately the new engine looked a bit risky to be putting in. So, we whipped the head off the new engine to have a look inside. It looked tired and had evidence of some serious oil leaks. :(

No idea what I'm going to do, but it's looking increasingly likely that a rebuild will be on the cards.

We have decided we are going to refresh the 'new' engine with new rings, mains and big end bearings. We will get the block refaced, honed and cleaned too.

Also I can't help but mention that a certain person of the Sailor variety turned up in one of these, talk about surprise!

Excellent! I'm glad to hear you've made this decision, I think it's the right thing to do  :thumleft:

Next job is to recon the new engine and refresh the bottom end.

Thanks all for the help! :)

Martin, we have your 14mm socket. We are guessing you might have ours by mistake. Can bring it to JAE.

Just been and checked. My 14 is missing, so if you have a Draper Expert one then that's probably mine. I don't have your's though... :-k

Nice photo documentation though :thumleft:
