Nope

I just think it looks better without it. Personal preference I guess :thumleft:

Haha, it wouldn't be any fun if we all though the same and had matching cars, would it

Now if I could only decide on what to do for the best with the exhaust, my brain could be used for more productive things :-k

If I were to go for something smaller, would I notice a drop-off in flow/power?

What about a Dep2 regular? They dont hang down as low as a pro and are quieter. The HKS superdragger is quieter than the Dep2 regular. Dont go japspeed after having a nice HKS single exit, its just wrong, and they sound cack #-o

Try and get a super drager HKS. Had mine in my last two tubby's and I think it sounds great. Wouldn't class it as loud until top end of revs and very free flowing. Well manufactured and no drowns on motorway runs. Let me know if you need vids and more than happy to do recording inside cab and external

Wouldn't change it for anything.

The HKS SD looks pretty close to what I'm after. I'd probably snap up the one for sale on here, if it weren't for concerns surrounding the sound deadening having been removed. I think it's that peace of mind in knowing that it wouldn't be as loud as hell, which is missing.

Yes please, that would be great :thumleft: There's not a lot of MR2/HKS SD videos around, so it's hard to gauge what they sound like.

I'm planning on visiting a custom exhaust company today, to see what they can offer and suggest.

I took myself off to a custom exhaust specialist today, to get some ideas and prices. He showed me a couple of tip sizes, the 3.5" looks pretty much perfect. So now I have a better idea of what would look good, along with how much it would cost to get something tailor made for the car (not cheap but the price you pay for custom work).

So if I could find something which has 3.5" ish twin tips, not too loud, especially at motorway cruising speeds and has good flow, then I'm it's a winner.

Suggestions gratefully received. Let the searching and reading commence

Still looking

The Legalis R is ticking boxes nicely for me, however there appears to be single and twin can versions. Is this correct? What's the difference?

Fujitsubo do the twin exit Legis R and single exit RM01A exhausts for the SW20 3S-GTE.

I think that's a custom setup on that one, not seen anything quite like that before :-k

The Fujitsubo Legalis R flows pretty well, there was a guy (Locky?) Who was running around 400hp without any noticeable restrictions.

What's the limits of a pipe like that would you say, power wise? I'd like something quieter but not at the expense of performance. All round performance, not just in terms of power etc, is my focus. However if it can be achieved with a more subtle tone then perfect :thumleft:

Sounds like the Fujitsubo Legalis R is the one for you as it flows well but only just a bit louder than stock with a much deeper rumble. If it flows past 400hp, then it leaves a fair amount of scope for performance improvement from where you are. 3" Dia pipework all the way back to the backbox AFAIK.

There'll be a lot of stuff you'd be upgrading before the thought of replacing the Fuji because it has become restrictive anyway!

There was one for sale here recently that was rattling because the seller thought the baffles have gone. From experience (and I've had 2) both rattled a little bit from little bits of exhaust gunk etc getting in there and cannot escape.

Sounds pretty much perfect then :D 400bhpis pretty much as far as I was planning on going anyway, as these days on the road you struggle to use 100bhp. Given all the Honda Jazz's (slow and sat in the outside lane) and Audi's (less slow but still determined to live in the outside lane)

The titanium Ganador Vertex Titan would be my exhaust of choice, shame it's £2K+ new

Nice :D What size are the tips?

Everywhere I drive at the moment I'm looking at exhausts on cars and pondering what they'd look like on my 2 :-k

Looks to be 4".

Is there any reason why manufacturers seem to opt to 4" tips over anything else? Is it down to tone, performance, looks etc?

Has anyone had any experience with MIJ Exhaust, who make custom exhausts and offer them up on eBay for around £350?

Still pondering over what would look the best, so would like to make an appeal for some tubby bum end photos. Of the car exhaust not the explicit variety though of course

Show me your rear ends
