not been to bluewater myself but the idea of a handout seems really good.
it may also be worth liaising with security over maybe blocking off an area for the meet and then controlling the car entry to that area, that way repeat offenders can be prevented from making trouble in amongst the "official" meet.
would also have the effect of showing the security that we are serious about the event and co-operating with them over any issues.
this would allow the event to continue for longer.
just my opinion.

Explaining that the meet is only tolerated by the Security at Bluewater if people behave.

No Revving / Flaming
No Burnouts
No Dohnuts (ok apart from krispy Kreme's  )
No Loud music
No Sideways action on exit.

Failure to behave with above "simple" rules will allow the meet to continue for years to come... if not then you will be asked to leave or your car details / registration given to the Bluewater Security Guards and you will be banned.

by giving out flyers you will be notifying the offenders BEFORE they break any rules.. it also is freindlier as no-one likes to be a killjoy and no matter how many times people say "grrr" and moan about these type of incidents NO-ONE actually says anything to the perpetrator :-#

it's a natural thing i suppose - you fear backlash from the offender and sometimes it's hard to elloquently explain the meets rules when they are leaving sideways at 50mph =;

If need be I will happily make up some flyers if the organisors want to send me the "rules of the meet"

thanks for listening

Totally agree. You cant blame the chavs for turning up, we are a great bunch of people with brilliant cars, who wouldnt want to see us?

However i do agree that a code of conduct needs to be put in place, maybe even a attendencs fee. that should scare off the ****r's! The Bluewater meet should stay put, i dont think we should be the ones to move, its our meet, and we are generally decent people, why should we make the sacrifice for the few? ban them, yes, report them to the fuzz, yes, try and educate them yes!!!!

So, just to clarify my stand on this, we stay, i will continue to go tto bluewater its fun and i kinda look forward to it. I WILL NOT BE PUNISHED FOR THESE right hand jockeys!!!!! and neither should you. its up to us to do something about them, not do something about us.

WE STAY! [-( [/quote]

People will thank us in years to come. they will say, "never has so much been owed to so few" and stuff. if we fight the good fight we may even educate chavs enough that they in fact stop being chavs.

I hate chavs as much as the next man, but sadly the next man probably is 1!! After all they are just people too. and its not their fault their mothers are only a few years older than them, probably got 3 brothers/sisters, all from different people/races, they need training to be human. Some one once said a human is defined by the company they keep. and we only be human by checking our behaviour to those around us.

I have to say that having read through all of the above it's great to see so many people not just wanting to chuck in the towel at the first sign of trouble. =D> When I started this meet (what must be getting on for a year ago now) only three cars showed up, my own being one of them  . I remember thinking at the time that this will never pick up but still I continued to plug the event on as many owners clubs as possible with the thought that everything has to start from some where!

I am more than aware of the increasing risk of this meet being shut down as a result of those few twits who seem unable to control themselves, and so feel that we should at least try and bring some order back to this great meet.

Franky, I think we discussed the idea of handing out flyers some time ago if I remember correctly? This I think to be a great idea in all honesty and I think it may well be something that will hit home to those who are unaware that such bad driving practices will result in the end of this meet. I'll give you a call to discuss how the flyer needs to read as well as talking through some other ideas i've had to shape things up

Thanks to all that feel we should stick to our guns =D> I am very aware of the so called chav increase of late. As Bri has said....."this meet has become a victim of it's own success" which is true when you think about it. However I don't think the answer lies in the moving of the meet. Like I already mentioned before....any successful car meet will always attract a few undesirables in my experience. But rather than moving on to a new venue I think we need to stand our ground and find ways to keep things in order :D

Best,

Mikejc

Blooduk and Bry, we wanna stay, its a nice car park, with excellent facilities.

We shall not run.
We shall not hide.
We shall not cower in fear.
We will not be threatened.

THEY learn our ways or we will forcibly have them removed. Any ar$e ish behaviour earns a call to the police. First offence. Therefore no possible way for a second offence.

Moderator's, produce a code of conduct. Email it to all members. produce flyers, im sure the nice members of the bluewater meet section of imoc will all help and support. Contact the other clubs that attened. Inform them of the current situation. If need be, produce 1 flyer, give it to me, i work in a school that has its very own print room, the guys a friend, owes me a favour.

Email it to me. SOON. Or i shall write my own, and i shall hand it out to all people that attend. I would like the backing of imoc and the other clubs though, so that all action is official. really and truly the powers that be (mikejc etc) should do this but as i have said before, I WANT TO STAY AT BLUEWATER!!

People power all the way.

Believe me know one wants it to stay more than me as I only live 5 minutes down the road,I just want the meet to have more of a club feel to it like it used to,not the max power cruise it's slowly turning in to :( If we don't get kicked out at the next meet lol, then count me in for trying to educate our chav behaving friends [-X
Watch out OZ here I come !!

Again let me state that it's great to see people expressing that they are intent on staying put =D>

However, can I please ask that no one person takes it upon themselves to sort the situation. I can assure you that no one more than myself wants this meet to continue and so believe me when I tell you that all that can be done to put things in order, will be done!

Great idea Frank... the flyers

We need to bear in mind that the recent J-Tuner article will help attract more great japanese cars but maybe it will attract more arseholes =;

Flyers now would be great timing :D

Very true indeed Pete regarding the J-Tuner artical.......side note, did anyone spot a pic of my engine bay in the bottom left hand corner of the artical! :D

PS, could some body please pay a visit to the MR2OC club and if poss attatch a link for this thread? It has I believe already been discussed over there also but I thought it would be a good idea to keep them up to date

Many thanks,

Mikejc

Hello mate.

Thanks for the offer, it's always nice to have the boy's in blue on side :thumleft:

The next meet will be held on Tuesday the 26th of July, 8pm till late.

As for needing advice.....this was yet another reason for me putting this meet together as it happens. So that we all had some where that we could meet up in the flesh as well as bringing along the cars that we had any given Q's on etc :D By all means bring the beasty along and ask away buddy

having been a bit slow on the uptake of this thread i do agree with lots of the suggestions (suggestions i would have made).

flyers sound great, but i got a funny feeling that yes, we'd beable to get them out to all mr2 owners, but whos going to hand them out to the few muppets that ruin it for most of us.

my first mr2 meet (and yes, it was ONLY mr2s in the beginning) which was great. its slowly become more chavy, and its attracted total di*k heads!
the j tuner feature will now totally attract even more scum. (unfortunatly).

but a big praise to the organises for organising such a great meet.

ive been a fair number of times now, and meet a few friendly mr peeps from the boards, talking all things mr2.
but its got to the stage now that when it starts to get late, everyones looking out for the n*bs that leave there tyres on the carpark.
(and im not talking about franky losing his wheels due to incorrectly done up wheel nuts :-))

i think a temperary sort of barrier (like already suggested), would a great idea.
ie, just some cones, and police tape across them, lol.
that way, those entering the "area", will have no choice but to take a flyer (but of course, someone will need to be handing them out, which could be a real drag).

whats this about clampers??? those sons of a bit*hes get anywhere near my rims and ill chop there heads off, .

just my 2p.

The guy was a total d*ck, i spoke to him earlier in the meet asked him
what he was doing... He said oh just taking pictures of that nissan i like it.
He said dont like any of the others, i dont like fast cars i just like clamping
them its my job and i love it, more money the better. I just said oh
and walked back to the guy, mumbling... didnt go in bluewater because
of that dont trust him, i think a few others stayed in their cars too.

i believe thats what they call jealousy blooduk.... im sure he was bullied at school and likes his ''inferior authority'' he thinks he has... used to work around london so i was battling with them everyday, there was no greater thing than watching a warden getting punched in the mouth by an angry motorist =D>

and yes i know it sounds childish and voilence solves nothing but when i was paying around £80/£120 in pcn's a week it helped soften the blow lol
