BOTH "the HD demo" AND Prologue use the PS2's GT4 game engine.

GT5 doesn't.

its taken to long simple as.

as die hard gt fanboy only reason i got my ps3 actually in vain hope that would soon be released.

ive since bought an 360 and set about forza, forza is so much easier to play, just the feel of the game, as consul games will have an arcade vibe as there designed for the cross over for mass market and sims fans.

lfs is possibly the best sim and its grapics are crap but real sim gamers dont care, all they want is the most realistic experince.

yes i will buy gt5 IF it ever comes out, but am having fun with forza while am waiting

dont look at me like that  you knew it would happen.

I love it when people compare Forza to GT5. The fact that it is even comparable at all is a MASSIVE win for Forza and Turn 10. If turn 10 took 5 years can you imagine how amazing that game would be?

If GT5 didnt look amazing then people really would wonder what the hell they have been doing for the past 5 years!!

Personally i still do.

And as of this years E3 it is 5 years and thats only when we got to know about it so probably longer. Duke Nukem anyone?

mikee that comparison you posted, i wouldnt say that either of the games was hugely better than the other. They just have a different graphical style.

Forza does some things better and so does GT5.

You say youd rather have a well polished game. Well thats what Forza is and it didnt take anything near 5 years.

Alot of people say it IS the better driving sim too so theres another argument there.

At the end of the day the game has taken waaaaaay too long to deliver and i see absolutely no justification for all that time.

The prologue was a money maker too. Probably to fund the rest of the development who knows.

Just to add more to the fire. If GT5 is so great, why did sony themselves willy up in there marketing and use a Forza graphic to advertise GT5?

Sam, I agree the game has taken ages to come but it's not been 5 years, they only started talking about it at e3 in 2006, So thats not even 4 years ago.

forza is a great game in it's own right and i've not seen anyone say otherwise? But please remember forza 1 and 2 are already out on 360 so they already have the experience of that.

I totally agree with development time but at the end of the day none of us can do anything about this can we?

I put the graphcs up cos matt said that forza was "forgetting the size and the fact it's a full game, is absolutely amazing in comparison to Prologue" and i wanted to know in what way???

also afaik that was an urban myth about the sony forza mistake but if thats true (can you put a link up) then thats a major feather in forza's cap.

If you wanna talk about development time then the next big game from ms "Alan Wake" was announced at e3 2005!! Thats 5 years ago but then again thats nothing when "Too Human" last years big ms game was 10 years in development!!!!

Half life 2 was 5 years in development and thats one of the greatest games ever! Doom 3 was 5 years also!

But then again as i said i'd rather have a brilliant game thats taken ages to make than a half assed effort that needs patched every other week!

the problem is when it comes to gt5 is all the rumours thats been said about release dates, But sony have only ever said officially one release date and thats the end of march this year, Obv they're gonna miss that now but thats not unusual in gaming releases.

As you say its the storys that have killed it.

Even with MS games and excluding Too Huamn as it was garabage, most devs dont brag about and show trailers of games years before they are ready and i think Sony always do that.

The same happened with Home.

The GT5 gfx whilst alot better than most dont even look special too me anymore because theres been that many trailers.

The devs behind Alan Wake have received exactly the same critiscism as PD have for GT5.

But again the difference is they only started really showing it in the last few months.

Its one of the reasons i favour MS. Another good example is the major dash update the PS3 got, i cant remember when now.

It was a huge announcement but MS was able to counter it as they had been working on a dash update too. Because they hadnt talked about it it was more breaking news and its coverage overshadowed anything sony had to say.

Sam i think the difference between Gt5 and the other games we've mentioned is that the Gt series is MASSIVE and as such there's always gonna be loads of hybe behind it from all angles.

Regarding "Home" i've had a ps3 since launch and i didn't know about it til i got a beta code lol, It's not my thing and i tried it and uninstalled it after about 10mins lol

I can't remember the dash getting changed, i remember the store getting an overhaul but thats about it?

I like the 360's dash, however i'm not a massive fan of the avatars lol

I think when gt5 does arrive it's gonna be a massive hit and whilst the graphics have all been seen by now it's the other things that'll make the game stand out like it did with the rest of the series.

But until then we still have forza3 :)

The trailer looks good. I'm not exactly worried how long it takes. We're not big gamers but will most likely put some effort into playing GT5, just like we have all it's predecessors.

I've had it on pre-order through play for months.

As for Microsoft, I'm relatively free of them thesedays, having my macbook pro and iphone.

Make no mistake, if GT5 comes out, and it's terrible, it'll still sell shed loads of copies and all the people loyal to the brand will claim it's the best thing since sliced bread.

For the record, I'll be buying it and I'm NOT a GT fanboi. I had one on my PS2 and 'kin well hated it. (forget which number it was, would have been shortly after the PS2 was released)
