Me too, I saw a couple from Autotrader, they were dogs. Waited and ended up buying one from IMOC. Was in far far far better condition, and you could tell it had been looked after alot more.

That's just one bad experience. You'll find that the majority of people hardly have any problems. If you can go for a rev 3 as it's considerably more reliable than earlier ones and has more power to boot. Parts really aren't that much when you consider it's a toyota.

They are only unreliable if they've been screwed around with by someone that doesn't know what they are doing (as with most cars) and if someone hasn't bothered to service the thing regularly.

Do your research and pick a good one and you shouldn't have any problems

You can pick up parts reasonably cheap if you shop around.. always worth checking online shops and breakers as well as going to Toyota.
