Aye... I wasn't blaming Lauren's driving skill! Just it looked close *_*

Yeah, sure it'll be fun on the day! Just worried about people getting tetchy if I am going slower than them.

Seriously it's fine, the videos make it look a lot closer/hairier than it really is, meeting other cars on track isn't a problem at all, when you do catch them up they are usually very courteous and move over - especially when it's an IMOC day :) (...or indeed when they catch you up, extend the same courtesy)

it is obvious if you are faster than some one, surely ego can't be that powerful. Certainly isn't with me!

my first trackday was last weekend at elvington, there was some pretty fast machinery there so was being taken quite a bit so i just used my mirrors/indicators and was gladly letting people past with no probs
i'd have to say, using the mirrors is especially important, check them a lot more often than you would on the road as obviously when there is no speed limit you get cars bearing down on you at ridiculous speeds, one second your mirrors clear, next its full of snarling catheram wanting to eat you :eye:
there was also slower people who where doing the same, overall etiquite on the track was excellent
only problem all day was a guy in a corsa turbo who hadnt let me past in about half a lap and hadnt indicated when we got on to the main straight so i just blasted past him anyway

If anyone is intrested in trackday name stickers (rally stylee), "stick" your name on the list to avoid dissapointment.

Any spaces left on the track day? I went to the TOC day with IMOC last May and had a blast. (I was the white tubby that shaged its toyos) been doing a few things to the car since then and would love to get it on the track again soon with you fine people.

Well.. I have to cancel :( There's simply no way on this earth I can afford it now.

Lauren - cancelling via the BaT site is about as easy as crawling up a greased pole - am I meant to contact BaT for a refund before I do the cancellation thing, or after? It's not really clear..

Believe me, I'm gutted :( But I can't really afford (or justify) the fuel to get there either, so no socialising for me.

I thought I was doing OK for money - until I realised I've missed two CC payments, so what with late charges & over limit charges, I need to find £1000.. and I don't have the overdraft left to pay that, so I need to claw back as much as I can each month.

Thanks - I'll shoot Jonny an email.

Maybe next year..

after much deliberaton think i'm going to have to cancel  ](*,)
cars just a nightmare to drive at the moment on anything other than silky smooth roads
the thrashing at elvers must have taken its toll on some already worn suspension
all over the place at the moment when i try and push it and crashing over bumps, not very confidence inspiring
also if its wet i'd be screwed as i've still got the wet weather problem as well
oh well, maybe next time :(

Speaking of JTuner... have they pulled a finger out yet and published the article on the R/R day?

My car will probably not be washed... I remember the last anglesey day, by the time I arrived at anglesey, it looked like the car hadn't been washed in 3 months - thanks to the dirt path leading to the cottage we stayed in
