Are the parts where the two cars are being joined together getting extra strengthening?

Sure, it will be strengtened :) Also, I will fill a roll cage, so it will be strong enough.
What I am afraid of, is that the places of welding will start to rust. But I will try to cover everything well with anti-rust material or how it's called :)

Me too, believe me! :D

I just can't imagine how I will have to put everything into places as everything will be/is dismounted. Suspension, engine, interior...

The problem is because it would be RHD.

I have (now had :)) 2 RHD MR2s, but we decided it's a better way to cut the rear and fit another one, because firstly - there is a VIN number in front and 2nd - there is lots of work to do LHD from RHD. And third - I would need to take a car to expertise to inspect if it's done correctly and it really costs a lot. Now they done cutting and welding works in 3 days I think.

Believe me, we have thought about lots of variantions. :) I hope they welded it perfectly and there will be no 4 skids on a road :D

The rollcage is going to be fitted this week! Oh dear, there are so many problematic places... I don't even know how I will get in the car. OK, I will get in somehow, but it will be really difficult to get out :D

In the meantime took some OZs for my daily :)

She's back! A bit changed :)
So much work ahead... T-top does not fit, I will have to modify it somehow or fit a hard top.
Next thing, I can hardly get in a car, I will have to buy wheel quick release hub. My current seat does not fit, I need it to put through the windshield :D But hopefully the smaller seat will fit through the door.

We will try to modify the t-tops now and then it will go to be painted. I am thinking of black interior and white roll cage.

One year earlier, I couldn't imagine my car will look like this... And everything started when we decided to fix "some" rust :D

I just cannot get over how quickly your progressing with this - that cage has come together in a flash and your already talking of paint. I am not to sure about cutting a car in half and joining it up again but I really to applaud you and your helpers/welders etc. work ethic. Well done.

The cage was fitted by professionals, I think they did this in about 4 days. I missed almost a half of season last year as my engine blown and now I really want to drive! My plans are to finish everything (ok, it's impossible to finish everything :D) untill middle of April. I will have to do run in then, some practice sessions on track and from May the events will start.

Don't need to worry about welding from two if it's done correctly. The wheel alignement will do the job if welders failed by 1 or 2mm.
