If you need another BBQ, I'll go and buy one. Was really hoping that someone would be able to take me as a passenger (J28 M1) but no-one has offered :(

My car is off the road and in pieces, so I'll have to go and borrow my Dad's car, simply can't miss this one! :D

Looks like were going to have a decent bbq. However (not to put a downer on things) I have tried my upmost to locate a bbq area. I am sure there is one on route but we will probably have to find one on the day. It will add to the fun it! Really looking forward to this! Lakes here we come! :D :D :D

:? Hang on, what's the final arrangements regarding meeting up?

Is it 12 - 12.30 pm at J36? Can someone who is not going to get lost PM me their mobile number, just in case?

I'll be heading on up northbound on the M6

:? :? :? :? :? :? WHICH services? My AA Road Atlas 2006 doesn't show any services AT J36. Do you mean the services between J35 and J36 (Burton-in-Kendal - Northbound only)? :? :? :? :? :?

Can anyone who is going please PM me their mobile number?

Having now decided to come, I now don't know where I'm going! :D

Yep its the services between j35 and j36. Sorry I should have made that clearer. I have pm'd you my mobile. :D

Also the route map is on page 4 of this topic and the 1st post, kindly posted up by JamesC. This is the route we are taking its about 50 miles.

The second meeting place is at the car park of the A591 up by Bowness this is also available in map form on this topic think its on page 7. We will Im certain, find a bbq place on route.

If anyone else wants my mobile number can they pm me. Also Im not 100% certain where this car park is located so if anyone knows for defo, mabye they could lead the way. On a final note my car is covered in cr@p after being parked under a tree so I am aiming to give her a wash tomorow morning (9am!) before I leave. This may not happen! Anyway see you all tommorow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D :D

JamesC,

Sorry about the delay mate. My car is up and running, thanks to Stuart, Graeme, Chris and many others who had thrown in ideas about the problem.

Anyway, I have PM'd you with my mobile incase you have lost it. I will wait at Washington Services from 9:40 and leave at 9:50, then meeting up with the rest at Scotch Corner hotel 10:30. Incase you have had problems getting a disposable BBQ I have a spare one. Phone me if you are meeting up at the Lakes so we are not waiting (unless you are fast asleep of course). I have missed Whitemare for the Optimax so will have to find somewhere on the way down to Scotch Corner. Going to check it out now. Hopefully see you and everyone else tomorrow. Its going to be a great day.

Leewaring North West (maybe)
Gtech Darlington (maybe)
JohnyC West Yorkshire (slightly maybe)
Spittinflames Staffordshire
Stu B North East
Stu W North East
Kevin..in Stoke
Samh Manchester
Paul F Darlington

Weather for today in Kendal

http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/24hr.shtml?world=4477

:D That looks ok to me, definitely coming now! :D

Meeting Point 1

This is for those heading Northbound on the M6. Meeting point is Burton-in-Kendal Services between junction 35 and junction 36 at 1200 - 1230. If anyone coming from the north wants to meet us there, it's approximately an 8 mile detour (4 + 4 to get down to J35, turn around and come back).

Meeting Point 2

The second meeting place is at the car park of the A591 (hang on that's the A592 :? , isn't it) up by Bowness at 1pm. Have a look at the bottom of the map below. I think it is the car park near Ferry PC Nab (is this correct)

( :? I assume someone from meeting point 1 group has a number of someone from meeting point 2 group, right? :? If not could someone from group 2 PM me their number :D )

Image

Here's the route. (HANG ON A MINUTE THE MEETING POINT 2 ISN'T ON THE ROUTE WHAT'S GOING ON!)

Image

 ROFL! Someone please confirm all this, I'm laughing too much to continue.......

:D Hopefully see you all there, weather's should be ok, anymore takers? :D
