Clean again!

Its been a bad couple of months and my I haven't had the heart to clean the car as its dirty the moment it goes out down the backroads up here and its been too damn cold to get my hands in a bucket.

Finally bit the bullet yesterday though as my wheels were gray with dirt and I was starting to wonder what colour the bodywork was under all that muck. The car was going in to get two new rears on it so pride got the better of me (theres nothing worse than taking a filthy car into a garage and them not taking care of it because its already filthy).

Anyway, when I went to pay for the new rubber the guys in the garage (who get a lot of MR2's and FTO's in) said it was one of the cleanest examples for its age they'd ever seen.

Obviously I'm chuffed!

looks clean mate, the only thing with not washing it for so long at this time of year is that the salt will be attacking everything underneath the car, not good...

don't think ive ever seen rear mudflaps on a mr2 before, looks sweet...

well done on finally getting her cleaned up anyway, keep it that way

Cheers mate. I know what you mean, though I did give her a couple of blows over with the hose over winter to get rid of any unwanted salt. Just never cleaned the bulk of the dirt off.

Apparently (according to a guy at Toyota when I enquired about them) all Mk2's came with mudflaps as standard but you see very few with them on. Maybe they've just been taken off or lost. I don't think many people colour code them though, but I kinda like it, makes the car look wider to me. I find that with the front ones on especially that it really cuts down on hardened mud down the bottom of the doors. They actually do work!

At £50 each I'm not suprised people don't replace them though as its 200 quid for a full set!

A little much yeah. There must be more cars out there with them, I've had 4 Mk2's and three of them had mudflaps on.

Has no one else ever colour coded them?
