Driving thoughts having owned the car all of 3 days.

Goes well, although power drops off when near redline so no point going that far.

Very narrow driving seat until I found the lever that adjusts the bolsters for more western shapes.

Handles like a bike go kart, although this could be due to the non standard suspension......unless adjustable camer on the front is normal =P~

Friend how came with me reckons it picks up quicker than his modded Skyline GTS although when his turbos spinning it leaves me....but not for dead.

Popup headlights are a novalty :D

Intrument backlights seem dim.

Fair bit of wind noise at 70 mph coupe.

Got RAZO sticker on gearlever and tunnel....got no idea what thats all about.

Took me 10 minutes of serching on this forum to find engine lid release

One strange thing which somebody may be able to answer is let if you lift off the power at 60/70mph the back end seems to weave a bit....is this normal, wheels are 16 inch with 195/50-16 and 205/50-16 on rear.

And how do you check the coolent level (a link to a handbook would be good)

And the speakers are crap.

Love the car and just had it valeted, looks fantastic.

I had exactly the same scary feeling on the back end mate, Perfectly normal most of the time, untill you let off the gas at high speed, feels like the rear end is trying to steer yeah?
Have a push down on the rear quarters, one side will feel a lot softer than the other if its the same problem i had, worn shock.
Just fitted a set of rears that came off a 96 model and everythings sweet again.

Forgot to mention the coolant bottle is along the left side in the engine bay near the air filter, should be a high and low level marked on the side of the bottle.

As for the sound system, the standard systems are poo, have you got 1 or 2 subs? These are located behind the seats in boxes, sometimes the one behind the drivers seat is just an empty lockable storage box. If thier working, but sound weak, might just be something simple like adjusting the fade on the stereo.

You got just the 1 sub then mate, should be a speaker grill on the front of that box, and the lid will still open same as the one behind the drivers seat, just have to pull a bit harder, give it a good yank lad :thumleft:

Gave it a yank.... ,I mean the box lid......and ....no sub :( .

Never mind, I think new speakers are in order and then will see what the Alpine head unit sounds like.

Bloody frisky at speed, never seen a car change lanes like this  :pale: ,may put the camber back to normal just to see what its like.

A set of lowering springs is a good way to stop it feeling so loose at speed, made a huge difference to mine.
Check your shocks though, sounds like you might have one or two dead ones.

Nice car by the way, you're wheels are almost the same as mine. 8)

205 tyre on the rear is too skinny.. you should be 215/225 at minimum. That'll stop a lot of rear lift at speed. (It cured my car)

From 1992 onwards wheels are:

Diameter 15" front and rear
Width 6" front and 7" rear
Offset 45 mm front and rear
PCD: 114.3mm
Front tyre: 195/55 x 15", 29psi (Some owners prefer a more easily sourced 205/50 x 15" to reduce understeer)
Rear tyre: 225/50 x 15", 33psi.
Original tyres are Yokohama A-022's, and wear rate is high. Bridgestone S-02's are the usual replacement type.
Tyre wear is most rapid on the inside edges of the front, and outside edges of the rear tyres, if the suspension is correctly aligned.

If your getting wind noise the door glass can be adjusted and the gaps behind the door mirror speaker (in the corner triangle of trim) filled. Search should find a how to...
New instrument bulbs can be had from Toyota for about £14 I think, if they're failing. Some cars have an adjustment knob to the right of the s wheel, low on dash near light beam height control.
I think but am not sure that rev1s are more adjustable geometry wise than the later cars but may be mistaken. Certainly they're sensitive to geometry so spend some cash on a set up. Again a search should get results.
I'd be considering wider slightly lower profile rubber also.

Cheers for all the advice and comments, new lower, less harsh springs may be an option, although not sure if I want 17's on and not sure how it will sit.

Although I think the wheel width is the same front and back on the 16's.

Will have a go at the wind noise bits and see what happens, and will put the camber back to normal and see how that goes.Until I pull the car apart a I won't know whats gone on in the past and I think it may have some tricks up its sleeves (good ones).
