get in touch with ollie@skyinsurance, he's on here,he'll sort you out. the turbo's are mainly imports from japan, they were never made in the uk.

There were 3 types of import.
Firstly the G-Limited which is basically the same as the UK spec 2ltr N/A GT. This car had more options from Japan.
Then there is the GT Turbo. These cars had things like steerable foglights, folding wing mirrors, climate control as an option, TC, ABS etc etc
Lastly there is the GT-S Turbo. These did not have any of the above but may of had the TC and ABS as an option.
All models were available as a coupe, T-Bar or sunroof if i recall correctly.

There is a very good buyers guide here prepared by our very own Ben Formesyn.

As above, SKY insurance will be able to put you right on the correct quotes for the cars. It would not surprise me if the lower of your two quotes was for UK spec GTi (non turbo) and the higher quote for a GT Turbo (import).

Probably an option on a GT-S mate. My GT-S does not have steerable fogs. GT had them as standard i think.

The GT and the GTS turbo should be nigh on identical in insurance costs.

There is also a UK spec GT which is just an NA. Be careful and ensure they are quoting on the correct car.

I am assuming you are a young driver getting quotes like that?

Have you tried Admiral and adding parents as named drivers? That really brought my premiums down.

I have seen a rev 4 RHD turbo import with dash airbag and a sunroof. Just to add confusion to the mix.
