1988 Toyota MR2 Mk1 Red T-bar

Post by Project_AW11 »

Selling up my beloved AW11, as I've been converted to the dark side... the SW20..

The facts, its a red T-bar model which has done 97K , I bought it about a year ago with 88k on the clock.

Being red it can be a problem with fading with age, my does show very slight fading if it has not been polished in awhile. However if it is polished well say once a month you really wouldn't notice :)

Standard car, standard alloys etc only change is magnacore HT leads.
Oil, spark plugs and filters have been changed regularly.. the last oil i put in was the full synthetic from Fensport. SBITS Stainless Steel rear tie bars as the old ones seized and the jimi bracket throttle mod

The car runs great for such 20 year old car truly amazing! Has served me very well, and i am sad to see her go :(

Only fair i list any things which may need attention

Exhaust is blowing slightly and could do with being re-assembled with new gaskets etc (you can only really tell its blowing by feeling under the joints) So no biggy...

Arches wise, when i bought the car all were perfect (the rear ones had been completely redone the year before). Now one of the rears has a couple of minor bubbles near the lip and the other has more bubbles around the lip..Structurally very strong.

One of the front arches i would say could do with replacing, its corroded at the very bottom where the splitter fits on, and its dented slightly from where its been knocked.

Last point to mention is that some idiot knocked my car when it was parked and has scratched the very edge of the rear bumper.

Rust wise the car is pretty solid, which not alot of Mk1 owners can say :D

Im looking for £950 ono
Willing to through in 90% complete white t-bar mr2 (if you can get it transported)..including engine, gearbox etc.. i have never ran this car myself but i can tell you it will never get through an MOT..way to rusted!
