Advan SA3R wheel help.

Post by craig »

I took the car to a wheel/tyre place as I found that I had a slow flat. And to check the balancing on the front.

Anyway turns out the tyre is fine and is not punctured but the guy said that the L shaped valve on the wheel itself is leaking air. He said there was nothing they could do to fix it and just charged me for the balancing.

So, question is how do you fix a leaking valve on the Advan SA3Rs?

Many thanks for any help :thumleft:

lots of jap wheels have these valves my enkei wheels did too. you can buy them on ebay (fairly exspencive though) but also lots of tyre places stock them as they are the same as old british motor bikes use (ones with wire crome wheels generally).

These are the ones I bought mate:

8mm:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll? ... 0299028878

11.3mm fit:
http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/90-degree-tyre-va ... 0283803218

These were the only 2 I could find on the net so I ordered one of each :)

Should be getting the pass side front fitted this weekend. (If either of them fit  )

Hope this helps mate :thumleft:

No mate, didn't go across the pond for them.

As for the colour, I'll just paint the valve black to match my wheels :)

I bought them mate, and since the tyre place re-fitted the tyre after telling me the valve was leaking the tyre has held 32 psi over 7 days.

So going to leave it for now, and monitor the tyre pressure, but touch wood I think refitting the tyre has solved the problem.

Advan SA3r Valves????

Post by Monkeynut2 »

I need some 90 degree L shape or low profile valves for my front wheels.
I maybe getting new tyres at weekend and want to swop them at the same time.

currently I have 1 90deg and 1 standard rubber valve.

BUT I am putting Rev2+ brakes on soon and know the standard rubber valve wont clear the caliper.

Do the Advan SA3r's have 11.5mm holes?

I found these on ebay
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2x-MOTORCYCLE ... 4aac44602d

Would anybody TRUST these as theres no manufacturer / make and they could be some chinese product?

Any 1 know of any good quality alternatives???

Thanks any help much appreciated

No they came off the wheels. Used.

3 of em were good, 1 was leaking slightly.

Think I have a new one too, that I never used.
