Just so everyone knows, access will be changed now so users can authenticate themselves.
My input is no longer required - which is probably a good thing!

Just so everyone is aware and is no longer feeling threatened by giving away there password to the MR2 Mk1 Club Forum to some unscrupulous key-logger - this process has now being resolved.
Michael - you havent posted an introduction on there?

No, too busy being offended by your PR machine and beta testing your site it seems.

I think only members are allowed to post, if this is the case it will be a terriible shame
You have to be a member of the forum to post - just like on IMOC?
I am trying to sort things out now, so please bear with me people!
But unlike IMOC you can't post on most of the forums without paying £21 - on IMOC most of the forums are free to unpaid members, and access to the premium members areas only costs around 1/3 of your fee.
Sorry chaps, but I for one won't be joining you on the new site, as it doesn't seem to offer me anything I can't get cheaper elsewhere ( or in many cases for free )

The forum is totally free?
You can sign-up and post on the forum for nothing.

Sorry, but if it's free the wording about it is a bit misleading
"Access to the MR2 Mk1 Club Forum is for Members Only - however, if you are NOT a Member of the MR2 Mk1 Club, you can still post MR2 related questions in the public section."
implies that you have to be a paid up member of the club to post anywhere other than in the 'public' section of the forum ?

OK - in that case my apologies
I do suggest you change the 'Members Only' text to something like 'Registered Users' though

What I dont understand is why you cant view the classifieds? I'm all for letting only members post (like on here), but you are shooting yourself in the foot, its pay £21 and get a very small market to advertise your car, or pay £7.50 on IMOC and have the possibilty of anyone who has internet viewing

Re: Newly awaited Club website now live
You can go onto www.mr2mk1club.com and look at classifieds without being a member?
This always has been the case and always will be the case that you can advertise and purchase a Mk1 through the Mk1 Club - without being a member.
If you personally are having an issue, give me a shout and I will be happy to help.
Obviously I cant comment on other peoples remarks about IMOC but as far as I am aware nothing negative has been said about either club, both have enjoyed a good working relationship down the years?
(I cant see anything, but like you say, things could of been edited)

Re: Newly awaited Club website now live
I was a bit foxed by the registration screen. it seems to be white text on a very light yellow background.. gives the impression the interface is 'locked out' at first.
Only realised stuff actually was being accepted, when I managed to highlight it.. nearly gave up and left. might want a css tweak there?
This is on firefox 3.0.5

Re: Newly awaited Club website now live
yep i must admit to being a bit of a numb nuts when it came to logging in. you need to first click on the tiny register button not try and log in as i did. yes i too thought something had gone wrong on the email entry but its all good when you think about it.
worth having a look, you may decide to join or just browse either way its a huge leap forward for the club.

Looks very pretty, I'm sure it'll be great when it's finished.
If you're going to rip off content from a site that wasn't good enough for you, you could at least read it through and remove links to pages which don't exist
