Like a few of you on here I get my insurance via Sky Insurance. I think it's fair to say that the only reason I considered them was due to Ollie's presence on the forum - without which I wouldn't have known they existed.
For those of you who don't know Sky are a specialist insurance brokers and they paired me up with Chaucer Insurance, who have a selection of 'Grey Import' policies. I had a smash on the M1 on the 7th of December, and Chaucer have been excelent. My car was collected within a few days (bearing in mind the incident was reported on a Sunday), I received a courtesy car - even though my car was still driveable and road legal! My car was assessed swiftly bar a small delay incurred by the garage doing the assessment. The insurance company quickly realised that due to the amount of fibreglass damaged in the crash coupled with the nature of import cars that it was easier for everyone if I used a bodyshop of my own choice for the repairs and I received my cheque in the post this morning.
So, that's crash -> payout in less than a month (in an incident involving 3 seperate parties), me having the freedom to use whomever I like to do the repairs as well as having had a courtesy car the whole time my car was away being assessed. All this in December, where everything gets interrupted by Christmas.

Thanks for the feedback fella, for some reason I thought you were insured with someone else when I was speaking to you the other day. As I said, Chaucer have a very good reputation for their claim handleing.. it seems to have shown through in your case
