Its the worst search facility I have ever used!

It has been mentioned hundreds of times but noone does anything about it, very frustating.

Dont anybody bother posting how easy it is to use because its NOT!!!!!!

Works perfectly well whenever I use it.. Selecting the option to match all words is required though, would be nice if they could just set that to be the default.

"Search all terms" underneath the box you type your search in.

Exactly. As long as you search for a and b, it'll narrow your search down a lot :thumleft:

Agree, you shouldn't have a problem if you use it properly :oldtongue:

Seriously though, it works ok for me, just bear in mind there's a xxxx load of threads on IMOC so its a bit like unearthing the titanic everytime you search

Just choose your words carefully, and as said above, click the search all words button every time. I'm sure this will be improved eventually but there's higher priority stuff for Alex and Ben to be getting on with...

Ding

It'll work with all three Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) to return some quite specific searches.

http://www.internettutorials.net/boolean.html for a guide how to use them.

Bear in mind, though, that because many people can't be bothered to search properly rather than creating new threads, that there are a number of duplicates you may have to trawl through. That's sometimes a good thing, though, as it can throw up new/different opinions/solutions to a common problem.

As Leon mentions, there is huge amount of information in IMOC and it make take some time to find your solution.

The wildcard (*) is very useful as not everyone spells things the same way/correctly

Oh, and I've moved this to the correct section as it's not MR2 specific. :thumleft:

You could always use Google to search the site as well. I get very good results this way.
Simply go to Google and in the search field type (For instance you need info on brakes)
