What's to say? Another cash in based on our increasing desire to be something 'special' without actually learning a skill, making any effort or having any degree of talent.
Personally since they use electricity generated by power stations which then puff out CO2 and since they perform no other function I think they should be taxed hugely and the tax on cars which we (mostly) have to use could be reduced. I'd love to know for example how much CO2 a power station produces for every hour of 'game play' required.

PS Some great riffs in there.

:pale: Ouch!
No. I've just been thinking for a while that while we pay so much tax to motor when we mostly have no choice (we need to go to work and since our high streets are full of mobile phone providers and catalogue stores we also now need to drive to the 'super'market on the 'business park' to shop for food etc.) because the govn says it wants to reduce CO2 emisions then we should give more attention to those non essential draws on power used purely for pleasure.
Why am I paying so much tax for an essential (and a basic right if you want to consider yourself as a free person) when a playstation costs no more in tax to run than say, an electric cooker or heater. It's energy still produces CO2 in it's generation doesn't it? It s ...till burns fossil fuel reserves doesn't it?
Basically I just think our taxation system and environmental ideas are shortsighted and unfair. Sorry I picked your thread to vent my spleen though fella.... have a good Christmas.

Oh and an MR2 is no less of a luxuary than a Playstation.

There are cars that have cheap/nil tax and do 60-70mpg nowadays....

I don't like live recordings on RB, as the timing is always miles off to what you hear on the record and it throws me out. I see RB as a rhythm/music game, not a remember-the-buttons game.

That said, that was only the case with The Who's stuff that came out months ago, but I can't see it being any different with AC/DC.

Kewl. Give me 8-10k or whatever and I'll buy one... or will that be a govt. loan? My 2 is a practical everyday driver I use for work. Sure it's not as efficient as many a modern car but it's not as thirsty as many modern motors either. It's also 19yrs old. I wonder the energy costs of producing new cars for the entire populance every say, 10yrs rather than every 20 if they don't last? Maybe the longer you keep a car the lower the tax should be since you're not fueling (my little joke) demand for new ones
Cars (to a varying degree I grant you.. and rightfully then with different tax bandings already) are mostly practical tools whilst playstations, Wi, 360s, and every other games console experience you can mention, cable box, dvd player, etc etc are not. All I'm saying is if you're taxing emissions these should be considered also. I see an advert for a game about every minute no matter where I am unless it's my home.
If you're taxing on the other hand to ease congestion..... provide a viable alternative.... and no I'm not Gordon Brown.

Yours

Ps. I can appreciate 'playing' along with Angus but would have it really high on my list to Santa if they'd do a Blackmore version... all the arpeggios in the Highway Star solo... that'd be fun.

Deep Purple. Ritchie Blackmore. I like them. More than AC/DC.
One of Blackmore's most famous solos... 'Highway Star'. Arpeggios? Very fast bits. Unlikely to be replicated by a game.
Any clearer?

Have a read of Wikipedia and then a look and listen on U tube. Blackmore left in '93 (for the second time) so check out vids before then. If you can find it listen to Highway Star from the live album 'Made In Japan'.... it's the definitive version.

Ah I see. AC/DC have a guitarist called Angus Young.... if you've ever seen them on TV he's the one dressed as a schoolboy (as he has been for the last 30yrs!). He's a v v good guitarist but my point was he's nowhere near as good as a fella called Ritchie Blackmore who played with Deep Purple. A Guitar Hero with Deep Purple tracks would be alot better than the AC/DC one (IMO) but also some of it I think would be very hard to replicate on a game..... some of his playing is v intricate.
Just out of interest how old are you mate? Purples heyday was the early 70's and AC/DCs was the early 80's.

27 mate, born in 81'

To be honest, I would bet you could download most of those songs from xbox live/PSn any way.

I'm trying to think, I may have Smoke On Water (think thats the Deep Purple one?) as a DL on Rock Band. Havent played it for while.
