Exactly how many litres is the petrol tank capacity in a rev 3 turbo?
I wanna work out the miles I get from my tank bone dry.

Re: Petrol tank capacity
55 litres??
Dude are you sure?? maybe thats for a rev 5 that you have? I wanted to know what the rev 3 one was.
I fill up when its pretty much at the bottom and I get in 42 litres (even then I have done a lousy 160 miles at that point). Surely I dont have 13 litres left in there already...

Re: Petrol tank capacity
it's 55 litres
my fuel light comes on at approx 40 litres used, after 70 odd miles with it on i managed to get 54 litres in

55 litre capacity
45 litre to red light - 10 litre reserve (but don't test that!)

Out of interest, why do you want to know that?

So that I can work out the true number of miles I get out of my tank. 160 miles up to the point of filling up is obviously quite inaccurate. I work this out with every car I have.
Re: Petrol tank capacity
Fair play
Another way you could easily work out your range without draining it right down:
Work out your fuel economy accurately: brim tank, reset trip, drive as per normal for a 100 miles (or whatever, doesn;t really matter). Then re-brim tank at same pump, note how many litres went in and how many miles that took. i.e. miles per litre.
MR2 tanks are 55 litres, so times your average miles per litre by 55
No point relying on fuel gauges as they're all differently inaccurate. Not wise driving on fumes and then conking out

Re: Petrol tank capacity
Its true its 55L but the light does come on with about 10L still in it.
I used to get 230-250 miles when the light came on.

Re: Petrol tank capacity
I managed 37mpg on a non-stop motorway run in my rev3 turbo. Put another way: I could do about 445 miles from a tank if I drove carefully, non-stop

I have had 42mpg out of my Rev3 Turbo once.

56mph mostly behind the fastest Lorry I could find.
