[Mk2] [Turbo] help..... re-cuirculating valve location?

Post by p34nut »

hello people,

i now have the correct fitting kit for my dump valve, i have everything fitted bar the vacuum hose.....

to my understanding you have to remove the vacuum hose from the standard re-cuirculation valve and take this feed and use it for your new valve (correct me if im wrong)

the trouble is i have seen pics of standard engine bays and what i believe is the standard valve (a little larger than a tea bag and about 20mm thick? not sure tho) i cant find in my engine bay, can anyone put me on the correct path and help me to trace it or put me right

again i know it isnt the best pic but i will post it just incase it makes a difference

thanks in advance

I know mines a rev 2 but the dump valve comes off the turbo intake pipe
should be similar on the rev 3

From that pic with a chargecooler the bov or dump valve should be on the chargecooler outlet just to the left of it before it goes into throttle body

if its a to atmosphere dump valve taker orginal one off put new one on in same place thin hose from filters on standard dump valve connects to top of new dump valve then normally fit a bung into the inlet pipe before the turbo where it normally dumps the air back done!

if its not there it will be on the chargecooler inlet pipe by turbo

see mine is a rev 3 which has an st185 (single in, single out hose) chargecooler.

i dont have the horizontal hard pipe that fits to the turbo (which the standard valve fits to) it seems to have been removed when the charge cooler was fitted

i cant find the standard valve at all.....

may it be that i never had one fitted? if so how would i get a vacuum feed?

thanks for the help people

panic over, i have worked it out people, it turns out i didnt have a standard recirc valve, all feeds had been blanked so i traced the feed to the inlet manifold.

it now works and im a very happy man
