The power supply thing is huge and annoying on the 360, I was thinking that the other day.

It's a pain if you have your consoles wired in neatly and you want to take one out to take it some where.

The chart is rather flawed in places though.

And tbh, none of that makes a blind bit of difference to playing games.

And ALL new Xbox's have HDMI

I am not biast as I have both consoles but...

In my experience HDD's and PSU's are the first to go on console/pc's etc so having them seperate to the console is a good thing. They both generate alot of heat too so another reason to have them seperate.
In saying this the 360's motherboard disgn as alot to be desired (reliability wise).

Because of the games that are available, my 360 gets a thrashing and my PS3 just gathers dust. same goes for divx playback. Even though the PS3 is divx certified, it still wont play 'every' avi file I thow at it where as the xbox does.

The simple problem with PS3 IMO is the price.

Maybe Blue Ray was not that appealing to people as it pushed the cost of the machine up far too high.
With the comparable titles on the 360 and its around half the price I can see why its popular.

Its funny as my cousin was saying sales are pretty equal but I know so few people with a PS3.

As for the best, i always used to want a PS3 but now id rather have a 360. Cheaper and most games are on both. No real differences between the graphics as people cant use the PS3 to its full capabilities, just like the ps2.

TBH I still dont want any of them, but id take a 360 if I had to. But on one hand this topic is wrong, we should unite the 2 of them and worry about the WII killing console games as we know it.

in my mind the wii isn't really a console, it's a kids toy, that's why it's so popular, would you want to play super smash bros with harry and jamie redknapp? or pro evo with michael owen ] [-(

New PS3s don't have the memory card readers.
XBox has no hdmi? What about the Elite?
New PS3s only have 2 USB ports.

Actually there's so many flaws with that chart

And I fail to see whether or not either have an internal or external power supply is a win factor :oldtongue:

or 'next gen dvd' or 'browser', browsing the web is for pcs, not game consoles =;

actually don't know where the video format stats wcome from either, off the top of my head i know the 360 plays 3, vob, wmv and avi.

design? consumer? win? :?

right, time to load up excel...

for me the 360 is a console more for the hardcore gamer, somebody who used to play PC FPS online but wants a console, the ps3 joypad stinks for FPS in my opinion as the analogue just doesn't feel right, the 360 pad feels better for these games IMO, i also used to hate using the analogue stick for GT on the ps2, there's just not enough resistance, on the other hand the d-pad on the 360 is awful, too wobbly wheresas the 6-axis is perfect, which suits fighting games as you can be far more precise with it. The wii is a plaything and the ps3 nestles between the 2 whilst trying to pose as a piece of AV equipment to boot

i like the idea of a sticky.

if anyone wants to start arguing when they read another thread they can copy the quote into here and discuss it there.

plus it would be funny to see how far me and goto would go lol.

the discussion has never fallen to name calling or playground antics (ok maybe between thai and lauren but we got them seperate rooms) so it should be fine. :thumleft:

PCP - the ONLY thing I like about the PS3 pad is the battery which quite frankly owns the 360's on an epic scale.

Other than that it's uncomfortable, things are in akward places, it looks as old as it is (10-14 years now?)

Agreed.

I HATE the PS pad with a passion. Can't believe its so popular, its fecking terrible. Doesn't fit your hands right, feels like a 5 year old has made it and the analog sticks are completely rubbish for playing FPS or anything that requires accurate movement.

The pad is the biggest thing that puts me off with the PS3.

And the "triggers" at the back are in such a bad place I end up losing feeling in my wrists after a while.

i can't remember what the battery life is like as i've had a charger kit for over a year

I don't mind the ps pad, but it's horses for courses, FPS and driving the 360 is better, fighting the ps is better 8-[

The built in battery on the PS3 last so much longer than the re-chargeable batteries for the 360 and also doesnt seem to randomly go flat when you dont even use it.

Do you have the official play n charge kit?

i bought an ebay special and that was crap. few hours play time and it went dead when i didnt use it.

the official one lasts for 20+ hours and i havent had a problem with it.

just be glad you can change the battery. not sure what happens if the PS3 one dies?

You can use it while it charges via any USB cable or just buy a 2nd pad and rotate them

What if a tank drives into your living room and squishes you?
Not that likely really, just replace the battery, bound to be a generic type - errr, probably :)
