Looks a nice car, good colour still by the photographic evidence. Rev 1s are great cars... do you know how early it is? Manufacturing mth/yr is on the seatbelt tags.
Any other plans for it?

Welcome to the site by the way, informative and helpful in my experience.

im not sure on exact year yet, i will have a look..

body work needs looking at as the paint is very dull. theirs a small oil leak and the t bars are leaking (i know their an easy fix)

but, tonight i had alot of steam coming from the drivers side... when i opened the engine lid, it looked like it was coming from the bottom somewhere, but ive not got a clue what it could be. i checked the engine temp inside the car and its sat on half. felt the over flow pipe and that was dry....

any ideas?? ive not had a good look yet as its to dark to see anything.

hi chris. car looks great in that pic. Very sorry to hear about this problem already - but welcome to the world of tubbys!

btw its looking great with those dark sidelights and I hope you DID keep the Forge dump valve off the car after I got all my tools out lol!

Now, a common problem with the earlier MR2s is the heater "pipe from hell". This is two pipes that run from your engine coolant junction down the car (over the petrol tank! :( ) and very easily split at a certain bracket near the back of the car - very awkward to reach! Especially with the cold coming in, hot water going through there makes the metal bracket contract and expand heavily and it WILL snap at some point and that could be where the steam is coming from.

We'll see further into this when I come up today. Incidently, mine has broken and I've had my heaters disconnected for nearly a year now!!

Nice picture for you:

I too have had the pipes from hell replaced....took Luke at Pacific Works a morning and a bit to do so not too horrendous. With the tbar leak get the carpets out and get someone to pour water from the outside to locate the leak. If your floors are getting wet it could well be water down the inside of the seal along the a-pillar and out onto the floor at the bottom (new seal I'm afraid). If the floors are dry you should be able to cure it with the sealant and clingfilm method as it's likely just drips from the top.

looked today and it looks like the smoke is coming from possable oil leaking onto the altenator causing that to smoke. the smoke dose not really have much of a smell and under the car is covered in oil where its been leaking....

the smoke is coming from the far side of the engine, as far back and on drivers side.
